[ An Overview of Tax System ]
Give an overview of the Tax system, including the tax formula, gross income, adjustments to income, filing status, standard and itemized deductions, personal exemptions, and answer questions on tax.
Prof. Theresa Tiggeman is an Associate Professor of Business at the University of the Incarnate Word where she teaches accounting and tax. Previously, she was in private practice in tax. She regularly speaks and writes on the subject of tax.

Discuss retirement plan also some programs provided by Forst Bank.
Mr. Tom Stringfellow, Frost Bank Managing Director of Equities, Executive Vice President, is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, and Certified Financial Planner. He manages portfolios for individuals, corporations, trusts, and non-profit organizations. Frost Bank is a $13 billion trust institution.
[ Tax Planning Opportunities ]
Provide an overview of new and relevant tax law concerning individuals. Tax strategies under current law will be discussed along with a brief discussion of future tax law changes.
Prof. Pamela Smith is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She earned her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. Her research interests include the impact of federal taxes on nonprofit tax-exempt organizations as well as ethical decision-making in the nonprofit sector.
[ Investing for Retirement ]
When investing for retirement, conventional pension fund manager seeks to balance return and volatility. This approach is not appropriate. Instead, the portfolio selection should examine the downside risk. This talk discusses asset allocation when downside risk is the main concern. It also evaluates the performance of the conventional 100-age rule.
Prof. Donald Lien is one of the best professors of the Business School of the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has taught at Uinversity of Kansas, Washington University - St. Louis and National University of Singapore. He has poblished more than 100 articles in academic journalsand served as a consultant for World Bank and several institutes.
