What is TexShare? (Expanded Horizon for Research)
Presenter: Albert Chang TexShare Coordinator, Southwest Texas State University

摘要:
TexShare is a Texas Library Resources Sharing Program. Formed funded in 1994 by an act of Texas legislature, it seeks to improve library services to the academic communities of Texas higher education. In its first year(1995) of operation, there were about 50 public colleges and universities participated in the program. Today, the number increased to about 180 due to private institutions' particitation. It is anticipated that participants will increase substantially as public libraries partake in the procession in Year 2000. Owing to collective purchases of indexes and full-texted databases such as ABI/Inform, Commerce and Business Daily, Premedline, etc., this endeavor extends the ability of the library to provide additional information resources to its researchers.
