SJ30-2 High Performance Bizjet Development - A Prototype Based ApproachPresenter: Johnny T. Doo
摘要: The SJ30-2 bizjet is a new generation high performance bizjet with an aggressive design goal at conception. The 6/7 seat aircraft is to operate up to 49,000 ft, cruise at Mach 0.83 and with 12 psi cabin pressurization and be capable of a 2,500 nm range. The aerodynamic configuration development effort combines traditional analytical analysis, model testing and early introduction of a developmental prototype to eliminate the majority of the design uncertainties. A cruise tailored swept wing with a purposely-designed transonic airfoil and relatively high wing loading was necessary to meet the high-speed requirement. The combination of full span leading edge slat and Fowler flap provides decent field performance with good high angle of attack pitching moment characteristics. The developmental prototype flight test program proves to be invaluable in verification and refinement of performance, flying quality and system design parameters. The powerplant installation design and testing was also conducted on the prototype, thereby allowing complete engine installation and performance verification at early stage of the program. To support the structural and system design optimization, aerodynamic loads survey on high lift systems was conducted on the flight test prototype. A prototype forward fuselage was also used to conduct an ultimate pressure test to iron out any potential problems in the detail structural design. To minimize potential design changes for the globally located manufacturing team, critical design data was evaluated early in the program. Through extensive use of various levels of prototype testing, valuable data was obtained early in the SJ30-2 development program thus minimizing risks in the production program.
