It is our sincere desire to continue the excellent past track record of SACPA in enhancing communication and advancing professional achievement of its members. This goal is believed to have been fulfilled through our monthly events.
The variety of monthly activities took place during this past year include aerospace, medical, chemical, electronics, crime-detection, financial and other scientific and technological fields. Monthly newsletters have proven to be a popular, high-demand and well-received information piece for members and non-members alike.
One convincing evidence is the ever-increasing membership during this past year. The outstanding efforts exerted by this year's Executive Committee Members are, therefore, to be congratulated for the job well-done.
In June, sixty-five current leaders of Overseas Chinese Professional Associations, including SACPA President, were invited by the Republic of China government to attend the "National Development Strategy Conference" in Taipei, Taiwan. This well-planned and well-attended conference provided SACPA with an additional opportunity for establishing communication channel with other associations.
This year's annual convention will have the largest number of invited guest speakers with most broad field covered. One very unique aspect of this convention is expending the fields into the outer space. We are very grateful that NASA Astronaut, Dr. Leroy Chiao, graciously accepted our invitation to speak to our convention attendees.
Above all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and invited speakers through out this past year. Without them, our association would not be able to accomplish its goal.
2月份專題講座，由牛春勻教授主講“Airframe Design and Sizing”，於2月18日在西南研究院舉行，吸引約四十位聽眾。

3月份財經專題講座，由林進雄博士主講“投資道”，米以苓女士主講“共同基金分析”，莊慧卿女士主講“新稅法概要”，於3月13日在西南研究院舉行，亦吸引四十多位聽眾。

4月份專業活動為參觀Sony Semiconductor Company of America，於4月17日舉行，本會約三十位會員前往。

7月份專業活動為參觀德州大學生物技術研究所，於7月18日舉行，由李文華所長及潘玉華博士夫婦接待，本會約三十位會員前往。

9月份專題講座由李昌鈺博士主講“刑事鑑定科學”，於9月16日於西南研究院舉行，吸引約六十位聽眾。

5月份由美南國建會主辦“美南科學工程技術研討會”，本會積極協助並派員參加。
