To, Mr, Ramanj Choudhary, I.F.S., Conservator Of Forests And Field Director, Project Tiger, Amravati.
Dear Uncle, Thanks a million times for conferring us the requisite go-ahead to planning our dream trip into the wild. Ever since we received your positive reply, all of us, aspirants of the Wildlife awareness tour to Melghat, are overjoyed and can hardly contain our enthusiasm. Uncle, we have contrived an adventurous and exciting plan and humbly seek your help to actuate it in the most desired way. We have reserved our tickets for the 10th of June, by Vidharb Exp.(Shall be arriving on 11th). We are in all, eight of us, six of whom are Engineering Students, one B.COM. Student and one, working. Apart from us, Mr. A.B. Thackeray, A.C.F., has kindly, without even our insisting, volunteered to accompany us through the entire trip from Amravati Onwards. This has come as a boon, since whenever we have visited Melghat in the yesteryears, he has been our mentor and accompanist.
Following is the Schedule we aspire to actuate with your invaluable help:(shall readily adjust in any condition if availability of suits in F.R.H. is scarce) 12th and 13th , June, 2004: Stay at Kolkas Forest Rest House:- 4 suits Viz, 1. Khapra, 2. Khandu, 3. Khursi, 4.1 suit in the old Rest house.
15th , June, 2004: Stay at Chaurakund Forest Rest House:- Both the Suits
16th, June, 2004: Stay at Kolkas ( same as 12th and 13th) **If there arises any problem of V.I.P. visit at the eleventh Hour, we shall readily accommodate in the Huts of Interpretation Centre at Semadoh.
Now coming Back to 14th, June, 2004: Uncle, I really didn't know how to ask you for such a privilege, that is why I kept it for the end. It has been our innate desire to visit the core, Koktu, ever since we knew about its existence. Our previous attempts of visiting Koktu have all been in vain, since in those times, we were too young to be conferred the permission. Uncle, I perfectly understand that granting such a wish, as asked by us, may be difficult. But even then, I am, with utmost hesitation, trying out my luck. In any condition, against the amount of help we shall be getting from you, it is impossible on our end to return the same in the form of gratitude or any other kind.
We'll be staying at chikhaldara forest rest house on the 17th and returning back to Amravati, on the 18th. From the evening Howrah mail, we shall be returning back to Mumbai. These were our Plans, though comprehensive, but devised only to fulfill our quest for nature and wildlife. This trip will certainly prove to be quite an experience of its kind and I am sure, all of us shall learn a lot about spellbinding nature of Melghat. With furthest humility, Sachin Sharma |
