Title: Tropical Paradise Warnings: shonen-ai Inspired by cold weather and a song by Sammy Hagar "Tropic of Carpicorn" Duo POV ----------------------------------- I turn up the collar of the jacket to the biting wind and quicken my steps. The tip of my nose is already numb. Small snow flurries whirl about in the air, and settle in my hair and lashes. "Brrr! Cold!" I say out loud to no one in particular. Two years living on Earth, and I still can't seem to get used to living without weather control. Maybe I should move to a warmer part of the globe. A little tropical island in the middle of the Pacific maybe. I imagine myself sitting under a shady palm tree, iced drink in hand, being waffled by warm and balmy breezes. A sudden gust of wind blows right through my heavy jacket and dispells the happy fantasy. Oh well, I think, I'm almost home, I'll get a nice hot cup of chocolate, and turn the thermostat way up. My numb fingers fumble with the keys, then I'm finally inside the heated apartment. "Cold outside?" Heero looks up from the book he's reading. "Snowing," I reply as I shed my jacket. He closes his book and comes up and wraps my chilled body in a warm hug. A really long one. And then a kiss. My fingers and toes are still cold, but there's a warm glow in deep in my stomach. "What was that for?" I say when we finally break for air. "I know how much you hate the cold," he says, with a half-smile. And I think to myself, I don't need to go anywhere. I've got my own tropical paradise right here. ---------end----------
