Being
by Sachie
Heero tilted Relena's face upward and captured her lips in a kiss, gentle at first, then gradually more urgent. Her body was pressed against him, and she was warm, almost on fire. He broke the kiss to gaze into her azure eyes. He felt naked in front of her, even when he was fully clothed. His soul was bared for her, and he desperately willed her to look at him, and see all the emotions he struggled to put into words.
"I love you," he whispered. But he didn't just love her. It was beyond love, beyond a simply physical attraction or a mutual affection, beyond anything he had ever experienced or imagined. It confounded the nature of the universe. How could the world contain such beauty and such joy?
"I love you, too," she said, in a voice so soft, it seemed to speak directly to his heart. Her lips hardly moved, and she was looking at him, through him, and into the deepest darkest core of his being.
He did not even remember how they're clothes came off. It was as if they became superfluous, and simply ceased to hinder them or come between them. His skin was on fire, and so was she. They explored each other bodies and every touch seemed to burn.
It was the first time for both of them. He had expected it to be clumsy or awkward. But their bodies moved together perfectly, as if they had always belong to each other. They came together in a timeless dance as flawless as the march of the stars across the heavens. Two bodies, two souls met and melded in one joyous moment of eternity.
Heero opened his eyes. He must have fallen asleep. Relena was lying beside him. She seemed asleep also, but she stirred and opened her eyes under his gaze. He felt a tug at his heart, and he knew that a part of his soul rested in her now, and a part of her was enshrined in him. Nothing could ever separate them from each other.
Their lips met in a tender kiss, and with his hand resting on her on her hip and hers cupped to his cheek, they lay side by side, not speaking, not thinking, simply being.
