| 29 April 2002 Katrina Out In Landslide By Kathryn Torpy WHEN Katrina Miani emerged from the Big Brother house to see strangers mourning her dead pet goldfish, she gained a sudden appreciation for the reach of the reality phenomenon. The legal secretary's goldfish Bubalah died last week, but fans last night showed their support. "When I saw all these people with rest in peace on their heads, I (thought) 'Oh my God -- the nation knows that my goldfish died'," the 22-year-old, pictured , said. Melbourne resident Miani -- who became known for her teary outbursts while in the Big Brother house -- was last night voted off in a landslide eviction. The 22-year-old greeted an audience of more than 1000 people, who were seen on the Channel 10 eviction show and during a live cross to Channel 9's Logie Awards, at which Big Brother was awarded Best Reality Program. Miani, a Young Liberal shot to prominence last week after it was revealed she had posed naked for an Australian men's magazine. Her father Vic, a Toowoomba teacher, said negative press during his daughter's time in the house had placed pressure on the family and it was "unfortunate" she had posed for the photos. Miani attracted 57 per cent of the eviction vote to social worker Turkan's 23 per cent and promo producer Alex's 20 per cent. In the first series-two eviction Queenslander Damian Hoo was booted from the Dreamworld compound after only two weeks. Article from Courier Mail |
