| 28 April 2002 Catch Ya Later, Kat Trials and tribulations, tantrums and talking to herself... Kats antics on BB have made for must-see TV. It all started on Day Three, when Peter told the tragic tale of his parents death and Kat ran to her room in tears. She claimed the death of her grandmother four years ago was the cause of her breakdown but, since then, the floodgates have stayed well and truly open. Katrina was nominated for eviction in the first week, receiving a total of 11 votes from the other HMs, which lead to a number of emotional breakdowns. She cried for hours and had a go at a few of the HMs over their joking attitude towards the nomination process. She talked to the others about her anger in the bunker, the bedroom, even at the breakfast bench. Its just not fair, she said. She made no attempt to hide her anguish, talking to herself, to the mirrors and to the cameras. She even refused to eat after being told off for chowing while the team were on food rations. But by the end of the first week, she had cheered up immensely, and wrote in her online diary, This week has been the most amazingly different week of my entire life. I have had some amazing highs and lows, all of which I am grateful for. Her second nomination came as a devastating blow. She talked to Turkan for hours about the injustice of it, saying that she had never expected to be nominated the first two weeks running. After the angels and demons party, she consoled herself in Peter (to Turkans displeasure). But Kat wasnt all chaos. She had no qualms about cleaning and took the tasks very seriously. In fact, the looming rug would not have happened without her pulling an all-nighter for the team. Kats antics in the house made her the talk of the town, and she probably will be for some time with pictures she did a few years ago resurfacing. She also became a political pawn for the Young Liberals (of which she is a member) when they launched a Save Katrina campaign. Even her pet goldfish, who died so tragically recently, has its own mobile icon, RIP Bubalah. One things for sure. For good or bad, she will be remembered. |
| Despite Kats protests that she wasnt yet ready to leave, she is the second person to be evicted from the Big Brother house. Love her, or hate her, theres no doubting Kat has been the most talked about housemate on Big Brother, thus far. |
