| 23 April 2002 Mira's Boys Face Off The show�s presenter, Rove McManus, asked Damo about his brief stay in the Big Brother house and in particular his reputation for being a bit of a ladies� man. While Damian agreed that there is a side of him that most definitely enjoys spending time with the female species, he said he would have liked to see the show portray more of his blokey side, where he �hung out with his friends and talked about footy�. Rove quickly moved on to Damo�s much-talked-about relationship with Mirabai, and what Damian thought of Mira having a boyfriend outside of the house. Damo admitted that it can be easy to forget that there is a whole other world outside. �Like you are in a different reality,� he said. �And I thought there was an adjournment anyway,� he quickly added. Rove responded by suggesting they get Mira�s maybe-boyfriend out to settle the dispute once and for all. What followed was a surprise for the audience, but an even bigger surprise for Damo. Daniel, Mira�s boyfriend, walked onto stage and shook the hand of a very bewildered Damian. Dan admitted that watching Mira on TV has been a surreal and heart-wrenching experience, but seeing pictures of her and Damian pashing on the cover of magazines was the toughest. Dan, who is in the same band as Mira back in Sydney, also revealed to the audience how NW magazine have exclusive interview rights to the partners of all the housemates. Dan joked that Rove was turning into the Jerry Springer Show by getting the two of them on, but there were no fistfights or black eyes and both men amicably shook hands, with Damo offering an apology of sorts. �I feel sorry for you, man, I thought you had broken up,� he said. But Dan seemed to take it in his stride. �Like you said, it�s a differently reality in there. I didn�t want Mira thinking about me on the outside, I wanted her to enjoy the experience,� he said. Awww. |
| When Damian was kissing and cuddling Mirabai in the house, the last thing he expected was to come face-to-face with her boyfriend on national TV. Since leaving the house, Damian has enjoyed the just-add-water celebrity status that comes with being a Big Brother evictee. The past few days have been a blur of interviews, press conferences and photo shoots. Including an appearance on Channel Ten�s Rove Live. |
