| 28 April 2002 Dad Steals Damian's Thunder By Tracey Gibbons QUEENSLAND'S only Big Brother housemate, Damian Hoo, proved to be quite a tiger with the ladies before he was evicted from the house -- but yesterday he became a trainee tiger handler for a day. Hoo and his father Chan proved a roaring success at Dreamworld's tiger island, walking and feeding six-month-old golden bengal tiger cubs Kato and Kaasha before braving the bigger cats. "You could say I'm a bit of a tiger," Hoo said. "But I think all they really wanted to see of me in the house was my swooning side." While inside, he earned a reputation as a tease, spending most of his time minus a shirt, and hours chatting up the female housemates. Back in the outside world his father unexpectedly stole the limelight with running jokes and funny jigs in regular segments featuring the families of the housemates. His fan club grew rapidly and by the time his son became the first evictee there was a push from the TV audience to make Chan Hoo a more permanent feature on the show by making him one of the household intruders.
