| 3 June 2002 Ringleaders Ousted By Kathryn Torpy BIG Brother troublemaker Nathan was last night voted Australia's least wanted. The gay graphic artist had been tipped to win the reality contest but was the first of two housemates to be booted from the show in a landmark double eviction. Last-minute votes also saw Victorian promo producer Alex ousted from the contest Nathan was a clear leader yesterday afternoon, but votes for the second evictee came down to the wire. Nathan took a massive 39 per cent of the vote. Calls while the program was airing put Alex second. Last Monday, producers nominated all eight housemates for eviction a move that saw the group stage a revolt. Led by Nathan and Alex, the housemates refused to complete the weekly "task" set by the show's producers. It is rumoured producers will today tell housemates there will be no task this week, meaning there will be no way to earn the Big Brother currency required to buy weekly food and supplies. "Big Brother will have the last laugh," executive producer Peter Abbott said. Last night's double eviction was expected to boost Ten's ratings after falling audience numbers saw the network run third last week. Article from Courier-Mail |
