The
Mabel Saslow Educational Fund
At the October, 1991, Sacramento City Council monthly meeting, Laureate Beta honored Mabel Saslow with the birth of the The Mabel Saslow Educational Fund.  Mabel always wanted to help SCC members, so that they could better their education, and what better way could we do that, than provide a fund in her name for our members.

Mabel was a driving force of the first Beta Sigma Phi chapter in California Alpha.  She was involved in all of her progressions, all the way through Laureate Beta as well as those members that followed behind her. She was our "Lady of Knowledge" when we needed to know the Beta Sigma Phi way.

In May of 1999, Mabel was laid to rest at the age of 97, but the memory of Mabel Saslow has remained with us.  May we never forget such a wonderful legacy.

All the money collected for this fund are donations.  This money is donated from Chapters that have lost a sister, family members of lost sisters and sisters that believe in carring on Mabel's ideals.

In the years that have followed that day in 1991, the recipients have changed to not just included members of Sacramento City Council, but their children as well.
