My favorite player is Azharuddin. I do not know what the current match-fixing invstigation is going to reveal, Azharuddin the batsman, the fielder and the occasional bowler will remain my favorite player.
Update
Azhar himself has now admitted to having been a key player in match-fixing. This is very sad and disappointing. I hope steps will taken to ensure that future generations of cricketeers will be better prepared to handle the pressures of the game.

Unfortunately the other player I consider my favorite, Kapil Dev, is also mired in controversy. He is my favorite bowler and my favorite all-rounder. Pure natural talent.
Update
Atleast Kapil is not among the those named.

I began playing cricket again at UCONN. Plenty of memorable moments here:

1. most recently saw Aswin and Niloy demolish St. Columba's
2. witnessed Dinkar's effortless six, Ravi's dropped catch last year that allowed UCONN beat St. Columba's with the last wicket and Manoj hitting the winning run
3. saw Jega bowl an amazing spell at St. Columbas's six-a-side to get the host team all out for 9 runs.
4. saw Sridhar belt Cavalry Cricket Club bowlers all over the field in a scintillating knock of 90+.
5. heard about Feni belting UHart bowler for 26 runs in an over and Niloy playing an awesome innings of 80+ to chase UHart's 180+ in 25 overs and win
6. Watched the UCONN Cricket Club being formed. Sridhar and Jega hosting the six-a-side tennis ball tournament. It was cricket and it was a lot of fun.

Along the way our team has lost some and won some. I'm lucky to have played with those I played, most are very passionate about cricket and have fun playing it.
