The next morning, Sabyien woke up to Jenga's face. "Can we go get Ryo now?"
Saby sat up groaning, the wounds had healed but he was sore all over. "Is Papa 
ok?" he asked her. She shook her head. "I don't know, you told me to wait for 
you remember?"
Opening the door to the living room, his nose caught the smell of food cooking. 
Seth came out of the kitchen, holding a plate stacked with pancakes. "Seth?"
"Your breakfast, my Lord." The vampire said.
The Guardian almost stepped back into the bedroom, He's still like that?
"Saby, why does Papa call you that?"
"He...he's still not better......let's go eat."
After they ate, Sabyien had a map pulled out. "Let's see....We are here, in the 
Red sea. Nearing Egypt......" He thought to himself. Perhaps I can get some 
help.
"Seth, do you know if Ariel is still in Israel?"
"Yes, he is."
"Do you know a way to contact him?"
"Yes, my Lord."
"Then use the phone and contact him."
The vampire thrall picked up the phone and dialed an series of numbers, then 
put the phone back down. Saby watched this. "Well?"
"He will call you back within a few minutes My Lord."
An hour later the phone rang. Saby quickly picked it up. "Ariel? This is 
Sabyien, I need your Jet."
The voice on the other end of the line retorted. "Guardian? I had expected Mr 
Belmont to..."
"Seth is with me. Listen, this is an emergency. I need you to meet me somewhere 
on land...."
"What ever for, Guardian?"
" A rescue mission....a Saint has been kidnapped by Vampires."
There was a long silence on the line, Sabyien prayed, Please, please..
".....Very well Guardian, I will tell you the exact location..."
Saby hung up the phone after jotting down the destination. he looked at 
Jenga "Ok kiddo, Time to pack we're getting off the ship. Seth, get yours."
"Who was that Saby?" Jenga asked
"A friend of mine, now hurry."
"My lord." Seth started "Do you know where the vampires would have settled?"
"They said madrid. but I doubt they could have gotten that far in one night. I 
have a feeling you know where they are."
"Yes my Lord. They would have settled on an Island in the Mediterranean sea."
With this information in mind, Sabyien had a few items stuffed into a backpack. 
He tried to find a spot on the ship where he could take off with out being 
noticed. Luckily for them, It was still early in the morning.
Holding Jenga in his arms and Seth's (wearing the backpack) Arms around his 
waist, Sabyien launched himself into the air. Daytime flying was very 
dangerous, But he didn't have too far to go. Jenga let a squeal.
"Shush....don't scream."
"This is so cool!"
A few minutes later, they were walking in the desert heat towards the meeting 
place.
"Here, this is the spot." Sabyien looked around, it was an old deserted air 
field. The sound of an F-18 flying over head caught his attention. He waved. It 
was Ariel, right on time.

The plane landed kicking up dust all around it, Jenga began to cough from the 
dirt and hid behind seth who didn't seem effected. the pilot opened the door 
and stepped out, the sun glinting along his blonde hair and bright blue eyes, 
he smiled at Sabyien and turned the rising sun seeming to fade his carmel toned 
skin. "Lets Go. The Saint won't save himself."
The others climbed into the jet. Jenga looked around amazed. "Whoa..."
The angel looked at her then at Saby "She yours?"
"His." he pointed at seth. who already had Jenga climbing into his lap.
"Jenga. you can sit in Seth's lap."
'Ok." she sat down next to him.
"Are we ready to go?"
"Seth, make sure you hold onto Jenga."
"Yes, My Lord."
Ariel glanced at Sabyien. "What's wrong with him?"
Saby frowned. "The Vampire queen got to him."
"Damn!"
"Exactly."
"....but shouldn't he be following her orders?"
"It's a long story...let's just go. I'll tell you later."
In the air. Ariel said to Sabyien." I will drop you off at an abandoned air 
field in Italy, There, your on on your own. heh, I'm not supposed to be taking 
the jet too far. "
"Thanks Ariel....how long till we get there?"
"Within an hour at this speed."
The Italian Air Defense had given them permission to land, After Ariel 
had 'threatened' them.
In one of the borrowed briefing rooms, the Guardian was talking over a map of 
the Mediterranean sea. "Since the Vampires must sleep during the day, they 
couldn't have gone too far from the Egyptian coast...."
"I could have a party of hunters search the entire area. If they find anything. 
I'm sure that'll rescue the Saint....huh...what was his name?"
"His name's Ryo...." Sabyien hesitated. "....formally of the Evensenct family."
Ariel looked shocked. "He's the sole survivor? I heard that house was all wiped 
out." Sabyien huffed. "Apparently, Michael had the boy re-located to another 
country."
Leaving Sabyien to inspect the map, Ariel went into the restroom and dialed a 
number on his cell-phone. "Michael, it is as you said, the boy is in 
danger......Yes,....Of course. I will do my best to aid the Guardian. But 
Michael, the Vampire Seth has had kidnapped a young girl......oh? Alright then, 
It will be done."

Sabyien sat pouring over the maps. "Wait.... Seth how many of these islands 
have caves?"
"Not to many my lord. Twenty useable ones at the most." he said Jenga sitting 
in his lap still trying to get him to notice her
"Papa, Look at me... please." He didn't look. she was on the verge of 
tears. "Papa? don't you love me anymore?" a few tears started to drip down her 
face. she was looking up at him. but his gaze was directed to saby awaiting his 
next order. She got up. wiping her eyes "Papa doesn't love me!" she turned and 
started to run from the room, but she stumbled and fell crying to the floor 
where she lay sobbing. seth didn't even bat an eye.
"Seth! I am disappointed in you!" Sabyien started sounding very angry. "You 
should be looking after your daughter not me. From now On you will act like a 
proper father to her. now do it."
The vampire nodded and stood slowly, and walked over to jenga to do his best to 
comfort her.
"There there jenga.... its alright." his voice was flat and unemotional.
Ariel stood watching the scene before him. He was still unsure of Seth, of whom 
he heard many stories about, stories that didn't help him to trust the 
vampire. "Guardian, perhaps it is best that we leave the girl here. I could 
command the authorities here to keep her for awhile."
Sabyien thought for a moment. "I don't want her hurt.....yes, we should keep 
her here for now. Jenga...." He said softly, "...Jenga, I want you to stay here 
with this man. Seth and I are going to go get Ryo..."
"I wanna go too!" She sat up, wiping her face. Ariel crouched beside her. "It's 
going to be very dangerous, very scary. If you stay with me you can help me 
out...." he smiled."...I'm going to be talking to them on the phones a lot. you 
can talk to them too, if you want."
"....Ok..." She got up from the floor. "Papa....promise me you'll come 
back...." She hugged him. Seth didn't move.....but slowly his arms went up to 
return the hug. "ok......I promise."
Sabyien almost jumped for joy, He's slowly coming around.!
Ariel smiled at Saby's happy expression. "Time to get suited up."

"Where'd you get all this?" Sabyien asked, his hands smoothed over the black 
stealth combat suit he now wore. Looks like a SWAT teams's..
"I got them from the US secret services...The latest technology in 'Spy Gear' " 
Ariel slipped a small ear piece into Saby's right ear. "Most of this is 
untested....It will allow me to track your moments. With this ear-piece, you 
can hear me, there is a mike built into the watch. Just press the blue tab."
"What's the red tab for?" Sabyien asked, pressing it. The clock began to count 
down from 30 seconds.
"Argh! Don't!!! " Ariel pressed both the green and red tabs together stopping 
the clock. " That is an chemical explosive! "
Sabyien frowned. "Do we really need this?"
Ariel looked over Seth. The Vampire was dressed in a similar black suit, like a 
statue, he allowed Ariel to fit him with various components. "You never know 
what you might need...Best to be prepared for the worst. I'll reveal the use of 
more of these items during the mission."
When he was done, Ariel turned a monitor. It showed blue stars where Seth had 
pointed out where the caves were. Sabyien pointed to one of the stars. "Ok, we 
are going to start there...."
The two headed towards the beach, where a moderately sized ship lay at 
anchor "There it is. Gabriel should be waiting on the ship for you." Ariel 
instructed through the COM link. "Better hurry or you won't find him in time."
The ship....nay, a boat, was a hunk of black metal floating on the surface of 
the water. The main hatch lifted. "Hey, Sabyien! " Gabriel waved them over, he 
saw Seth walking rather close behind Sabyien. Just for a second The Guardian 
thought he saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes.....and maybe something 
more.
A bit puzzled, Sabyien greeted the boat's pilot. "Ariel sends his regards." 
Gabriel's rich hazel eyes gleamed brightly. "So your him. The Guardian." He 
seemed to have wanted to say something more. ".....get in, Saved you a seat."
When they were all buckled in, Gabriel finally smiled back to the 
vampire. "Nice to see you again Seth."
Sabyien was shocked at the pang of....something .......go through him at 
Gabriel's words. It wasn't what he said....but the tone he used....

The ship's engines roared to life and shot away from the others towards the 
first cluster of islands. It was closest to land and had the largest collection 
of caves, so it was the best place to search from. Saby looked out the windows 
nervously. Gabriel looked at him out of the corner of his eye "Calm down, your 
no use to anyone if you get to worked up, have a drink or something. There's a 
bottle of wine in there if you want it." he indicated a door on the side of the 
cockpit with a flick of his head. Saby sighed and opened a door and retrieved a 
bottle.
"Want some?"
"I'm driving."
At the sound of Gabriel's voice Seth said from the back seat. "Gabriel...?"
The driver barley glanced back. "Yeah Seth? What's up? Your usually chewing my 
ear off by this time." he chuckled."....not that I mind it."
Seth stayed quiet. Sabyien tried to fight down the feeling of annoyance.
"We are almost there,"
They pulled up along side of the island, it was completely deserted to the 
normal onlooker, but there were the faint indents of feet and it looked as if 
someone had been walking around.
Seth knelt and sniffed. "Human...long time. Three days." Gabriel waved them 
over to deep hole in the rocks. Sabyien quietly stalked into he cave. With Seth 
right behind him, he whispered. "Do you smell anything?"
"Just small bats."
Sabyien sighed. "Ok, let's get out of this cave."
They check the other caves on the Island.
Gabriel closed the hatch, "There's another island nearby..." He pulled up a map 
on the dashboard screen.
"Then let's go..." Sabyien said: "The daylight hours are fading"

Slowly he stood and shook the sand off him gently so as not to get a head 
rush. "Where am I?" his voice dry. He looked around, there was no one. His 
stomach growled. "Gluh, starving." Ryo turned.  beginning to search for 
anything he could find to eat. Walking into the forest and then there she 
was. "Morning hun." Aliah smirked, a scarf tied around her throat. "Are you 
hungry? I know I am..."


They had checked out the other island, nothing not a trace of them, Sabyien 
frowned....He turned to view the sun that was low in the west.
Seth came to stand beside him. He had started to volunteer his own opinions. To 
Sabyien, become more like him self.
The Vampire lifted his head into the wind. "I smell them.....nearby...That 
way." He pointed to a forested island in the distance.


Ryo baked away from the woman. "Oh dear little one, don't' worry. I don't 
bite... hard.... unless you want me too." she winked, smiling and snapped her 
fingers. Two more vampire servants appeared at his sides and grabbed his arms a 
third behind him held his neck still in a vice like grip. She began to approach 
him ready to bite the saint. Ryo shut his eyes and screamed! There was an 
explosion of dark energy. The demon version of the boy stood smirking at the 
four others.
With a flap of his wings, Sephion launched himself into the vampires. Summoning 
chaos energy to attack the vampires.  


Sabyien felt a pang of dark energy, He looked just in time to see a bolt erupt 
from the island. He grabbed Seth. "He's there! Let's go!" With out waiting for 
Gabriel, Saby opened his wings and carried Seth to the next Island. Upon 
landing they ran in the direction that vampire indicated.
 Suddenly something drop out the sky, it landed kneeling in front of 
Sabyien. "Lord Sabyien."
Saby, prepared to battle this demon. The demon, raised his head, "My Master, I 
am here for you." 
"Sephion...."  How were you released  "Sephion how did you....?"
"Master.... the saint let me out." He smiled his razor like fangs glinted in 
the setting sun. "I am here to serve you master. Your word is my command. I am 
here solely to please you." he said as he bowed. 
Saby looked at him gawk for a moment, then shut his mouth and turned. "I want 
nothing from you. return from where you came."
Seth stepped between the two "He has me as his servant. he does not need you" 
he made a threatening fist fist. the demon laughed
"Whatever you command my lord." he folded away is wings and reverted back to 
his human form. Ryo opened his eyes "Saby? What.... what happened?"
"You tell me."
Ryo turned to look back where."That vampire woman. she was going to bite me and 
then....I found myself here."
Sabyien frowned. "Is she back there?" He began walking towards what looked like 
a cave. Ryo stayed with Seth, watching the guardian come back.
"Well...We don't have to worry about her anymore."
Seth looked up.
Saby continued. "She's been completely fused into the rocks." He shook his head.
Seth turned his head at a faint sound, "The boat is coming my Lord..."
"Would you stop that?" Sabyien rubbed his head,"If you drink someone else's 
blood, would it turn you back to normal?"
"I don't know."
"What are you talking about?" Ryo asked unaware that Seth had become no more 
than a mindless slave. Saby sighed, then explained it to him. "Oh.... I see..." 
he nervously touched the side of his neck.
"He won't feed on you ryo. you aren't a pure human anymore."
"Oh.... then who?"
"Jenga..." Seth said quietly. 

"Guardian..." Gabriel came out of the trees behind them. "Looks like you've 
succeeded. What happened to the Vampires?"
Sabyien pointed. "Over there."
Gabriel pushed aside a bush then grimaced. "What in the world?" He turned back 
to Sabyien. "Did you do that?"
"Sort of..." 
"Uhm...I'd say this mission is completed." 
"Good, let's get back."

Back at the base, Sabyien looked into the control center. "Ariel, where's 
Jenga?"
Ariel was the only person there. He looked at Sabyien. "Michael had ordered me 
to deliver Jenga  to a proper family."
"He What!?" 
"Seth had taken that little girl away from her family!"
"Her family passed away...."
"Didn't you think that she had other family?"
Saby was silent. Ariel stood up. "Michael had asked that you meet him in 
Paris...."
Sabyien looked pained but nodded. "What family was she taken to? Seth has a 
right to say good bye to her." 
"No he does not. He has no rights to her what so ever."
"That's a lie!"
"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" Ryo shouted. He looked between the two. "Seth should be 
able to say goodbye to her. She was the closest thing he's had to family in I 
don't know how long, and from the way things have been happening to him he 
needs this small act of kindness. How can you even think of calling yourself 
holy when you would go ahead and do that to someone?" he demanded looking at 
Ariel.
The angel sighed. "It was Michael's orders. If you have a problem with it take 
it up with him."
"See that I don't." Ryo said as he grabbed Seth's arm. "Lets go find your 
daughter." They began to drag him off.
"Quite a little spitfire saint we have on our hands... wouldn't you say so 
Guardian?"
Sabyien rubbed the back of his head and weakly laughed.
"So....where is Jenga.?"
"We've  sent to her Michael this morning....oh wait!" Ariel called out as 
Sabyien began to run out to follow Ryo. "....You can take the concord jet to 
Paris, he wants to talk to you. Guardian."
Saby nodded. "First we fix Seth then we'll go see Mike." 
"You know he hates to be called that."
"I know that's the point."
Gabriel walked in,"How do you fix a vampire?"  He asked, he had over heard the 
conversation. Sabyien thought for a min...."Are you still a virgin Ariel?"
"What?" The golden haired Angel blushed.
Gabriel laughed, then put an arm around Ariel's shoulder. "Yes, he still is."
Just as I thought. Sabyien smiled, "I need to borrow you. " He grabbed 
Ariel's hand and pulled him with him. A grinning Gabriel followed along 
behind. "B-but.....I d-don't wanna be bitten by a-a...vampire!" Ariel 
protested, stuttering and red-faced.
The dark haired Gabriel chuckled, "Don't worry, it might not be as bad you 
think."

Seth was standing outside with Ryo pulling on his arm "Come on! We have to find 
Jenga." 
Seth stood still. "No... Not with out my lord."
Ryo groaned in annoyance "Come on! who's more important to you? Jenga or Saby?"
"Sabyien... My Master."
Ryo looked at him mute for a moment then hauled back and slapped Seth in the face.
"He's more important than your daughter?!"
"She isn't my daughter. I have nothing to do with her."
Ryo looked at him silently, struck speechless. he clenched his fist and 
turned "If that's your decision."

"Ow!"  Ariel winced as the ribbon cut through the skin of his wrist, Sabyien 
held a paper cup under the dripping wound. "Since you don't want to get 
bitten....that should be enough...." Saby took the half filled cup and spotted 
Ryo coming back inside. "Where's Seth?"
"He's.....outside."
Saby opened the door. "Seth, get back in here."  
"Yes, My Lord?"  Seth was standing in front of Saby.
"I want you to drink this, all of it." He held out the cup to the vampire.
Ariel and Gabriel waited while the vampire drank down every drop.
Ryo sat in a chair facing away from Seth. He folded his arms and rested his 
chin on them on the table. 
"Seth how do you feel?" Sabyien asked looking at Seth. The vampire swallowed.
"The same as ever.... My lord." 
"Ariel Why didn't it work?"
"I don't know." he muttered holding a cloth to his dripping wrist. "Your the 
one who did it you should know how it works!"
Gabriel crossed his arms, "Sabyien, what happened to make him this way?"
"Seth....you answer that."
"The lady Aliah , forced me to drink some of  her blood." said the vampire.
"Then what?"
"After being ordered to wound Lord Sabyien, I....sampled some of his blood."
Gabriel turned to Sabyien. "The blood of another immortal turns vampires into 
thralls?"  Sabyien nodded, "Yes, that make sence." he frowned, ...I am 
a kind of an immortal too. 
The guardian turned back to the vampire-thrall, "Tell me how to break the 
curse...That is an order you must obey!" The last words Saby said were in an 
tone that the Knight had used when he lead Ashaland's army into battle.
Everyone else looked up at that. The wing-less angels snapped to attention at 
his voice.  The vampire bowed his head. "You have only merely to kiss me my 
Lord."
Saby looked at Seth then at Ryo then at the ground. "Uhhh...."
"Just do it saby." Ryo said from his spot at the table but the boy wasn't 
looking at him "I know you want to...or do you like having an obedient slave 
for yourself?" he asked raising and eyebrow and smirking
"I'm not that kind of guy!" Saby shouted then turned and pulled Seth to him.
Sabyien was about to press his lips against Seth's when a though ran through 
his mind: Having a vampire servant around wouldn't be so bad...The idea 
died when Sabyien realized that he missed the old Seth.
Lips pressed together and parted, Seth's begging tongue sought to slip between 
Saby's lips.
Ariel noticed the grim set of Gabriel's mouth when Seth willingly leaned into 
Sabyien's kiss. Maybe that rumor about him  was true...but...with a vampire? 
Nah, can't be. That would be...unnatural.
Sabyien hesitated, What if this requires more then just a kiss? What if I 
have to... He let Seth taste him. With a shiver, Sabyien felt his body 
begin to tingle as magic borne by their life-breath smashed the though the 
Thrall-curse. Sabyien, being much more sensitive to magic then the others, knew 
that the curse was broken. He pulled his face away.
Seth blinked, finding himself staring into vivid deep blue eyes, he blinked 
again. "Sabyien?"

Ryo sighed. "Are you two done??"
Seth turned "Oh sorry kiddo am I honing in on your chick?"
"I'm. Not. A. WOMAN!" Sabyien shouted pushing Seth back. the others started to 
laugh.
He heard the laughter, and had to smile himself at the utterly stupid remark.
"Now that everything's back to normal, we should be on our way to Paris."
Seth turned to see who said that his eyes widened, Gabriel? Quickly hiding the 
look of surprise, Seth saw that one other was missing...."Where's Jenga?"
"They took her away from us." Ryo was standing now. Sabyien nodded as Seth 
reeled back in shock. "Michael has her, in Paris...so we go and get her back."
The vampire frowned at the angles. "If anything was done to her...."
Ariel shook his head. "We don't harm children."
"The plane would be ready by now.....we should go." Gabriel walked by Saby and 
Seth. glancing over, hoping to catch the vampire's eye. Seth completely avoided 
him.
Ryo followed along behind Sabyien. "Wait a min....in a plane?" he reached out 
to stop Saby, and whisper in his ear. ".....I don't like flying!"


"What's the world coming to A saint that turns into a demon and is afraid to 
fly...." Gabriel laughed shaking his head. Ryo turned and stuck up his tongue.
"What I'm afraid of is my own business."
"Wuss." he winked at Sabyien. "So what's this I hear about you and the saint 
doing it all hot and heavy? You know he's supposed to be pure."
Seth shot them an odd look Sabyien punched him in the arm.
"Ok... firstly that was just a dream. nothing happened."
Ryo blushed deeply. "So um... i guess is a bad time to tell you im pregnant."
Saby turned and trying not to laugh grabber ryo into a head lock and dragged 
him down the hall muttering through a jokingly cruel smile. "Come on. Planes a-
waiting."
After a brief trip to the local public airport, Ariel and Gabriel escorted them 
onto the plane. Sitting in his first class seat Ryo frowned. "No tickets?" Saby 
smiled beside him. "No need for tickets.....'they' run most of the airlines in 
the world."
As the plane taxied down the run way, Seth groaned from behind them "...never 
liked the take-off or landings." Ryo seemed very nervous as well, Sabyien took 
one of his hands and squeezed it reassuringly.
In the air, Seth left to go into the bathroom, he didn't want to show such 
weakness to flying. If God intended men to fly...he would have given them wings!
He heard a click of the door opening. He was hardly surprised when Gabriel 
pulled a gun out and held it to the vampire's head. "Gabriel?"
"Why did you do it?" The angel was holding the front of his shirt now. "At the 
temple, you took advantage of my predicament and ran off!"
"Now Gabriel..." Seth tried to step back. "You only asked for my help in 
seeking out that cloven of vampires...." The rest of his words were cut off as 
Gabriel kissed him. The Angel's anger at the vampire turned the gentle kiss 
into one that was pure carnal desire.

Saby sighed looking out the window at the ground now far below. he sighed. "Hey 
kiddo how you holding up?" He asked not looking at Ryo, who had his head 
between his knees, breathing deeply
"I'm ok... for now." Ryo sat up slowly and looked down the hallway
"Gabe! Close the door!" he turned covering his eyes in almost complete horror. 
There was a click Ryo stuck out his tongue looking ready to be sick.
Sabyien leaned out from his seat over Ryo. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, 
he frowned. "Ryo? You ok?"
Ariel walked up from the back carrying some soda for Sabyien and Ryo, He 
stopped at the restroom door. Puzzled, leaned his ear closer...He quickly 
delivered to soda and sat in the seat across the aisle. "Michael's not gonna be 
happy about this."
"About what what?" Saby asked, taking a drink. Ryo waited....
"Gabriel.....Seth's 'corrupting' him."
Sabyien choked on his drink, sputtering.
Ryo rubbed his eyes. "I could see them...Gabe was bent over the sink Seth...." 
he shuddered. "Ow my purity..." He looked over at Saby "You gonna live?"
A while later Seth exited the bathroom looking relaxed and oddly refreshed. 
Gabriel came a few moments later and sat down as carefully as he could no one 
would even look at them
"Hey everyone." Seth smiled.
Sabyien wiped his mouth and gave the vampire a look that would have melted 
steel. Seth tried to ignore the look and tried to avoid looking out the window. 
Both Ariel and Ryo sat uncomfortably in their seats. The Guardian was 
dangerously angered.
"Well Um...." Ryo started "... I think I'm gonna sleep for a bit... not much 
else to do..." he closed his eyes and leaned away from saby nervous that he 
might set him off. he knew if all else failed fall asleep to avoid trouble. The 
recovered part of the sword slipping him from his body he unintentionally fell 
into another... Seth's.

It did take some time for Sabyien to cool down, He was looking out the window 
at the clouds rushing by wondering what he should do about Ryo.As he is now, 
the Ritual could kill him.....But with the two inner Ryo's and him.....what 
would it do? He had never encountered this problem before. He sighed, .....I 
can feel it....time's not eternal... Last night fight and the day's events 
sapped the Guardian's energy. He yawned.

In the seat behind Ryo's Seth had his arms crossed over his chest the humm of 
the plane's engines oddly soothing and he was beginning to dozed off.
Ryo looked around unsure of what had happened. he remembered falling asleep on 
the plane, now he was standing in the middle of a city that looked somewhat 
like old england "Hello?" he called out wondering where no one was around.

Everything was begining to clarify....
Seth was back there, back in london. Which year? It didn't really matter. The 
card had said that the Guardian wanted to meet him at the opera-house. He 
smiled amused, Is he going to challenge me for the Grail? He laughed to 
himself. He is a fool! Not noticing that street-urchin nearby looked totally 
out of place.
The vampire leaned casually on the side of the building, smiling roguishly at 
women passing by. It was late afternoon, the sun was burning away the fog from 
the cobbled streets. His ear picked up the sound of foot steps coming closer. 
He remembered now. This was the day when....
Sabyien was dressed for the opera, carrying a cane, a suit of black, covered 
with a black cape with it's red silk lining, fashionable for the time. He wore 
no top-hat as Seth did. As Ryo watched he saw him as Seth had seen him, the sun 
shone through the fog, highlighting Sabyien's blue-black hair. ..Like silk is 
was.. and the form fitting suit didn't hide the strength the Guardian possessed 
and the way he walked so confidently towards him ....This young man, had 
matured in my absence.. A white-gloved hand reached up to brush hair from his 
still youthful face, and those eyes......Why did you have to be so beautiful?
"Seth.....do you still have the grail?" Sabyien asked the vampire.
Seth smiled. I remember what he said. "Perhaps." The vampire answered smiling 
bemused at the other's serious expression.
The dream-version of Sabyien continued with: " Keep it safe, I will come back 
for it."
It was that statement that had shocked the vampire, he had expected to be 
engaged in a fight.
"Every well, Guardian...." the Vampire bowed. Thinking, wishing......
The Dream-Sabyien didn't return the bow as expected, instead he took a step 
closer to Seth and kissed him..."I want you Seth" he murmured against the vampire's lips.

Ryo's mouth fell open. he couldn't help but stare, he then closed his mouth and 
crouched behind a barrel listening to the two continue to converse. Seth did 
not look amused at Sabyien and pushed him back "Are you just saying that as a 
part of some kind of ruse to throw me off before we fight for the grail?"
"Would I do that?" Sabyien asked giving him a none to gentle cuff on the side 
of the chin then laughed. "I'll see you tonight."
Sabyien's hand lingered over Seth's shoulder, he leaned in closer to kiss 
Seth's ear ".....don't be late."
Seth smiled, he didn't want to wait till night-fall, and Saby's white-gloved 
hand seemed to be beckoning.
He followed Sabyien....

Ryo not wanting to be left behind slunk along behind the two of them. "Saby..." 
he unintentionally called out. Thankfully neither of them heard, they walked 
into the opera. Ryo tried to follow but the guards outside stopped him from 
entering. he watched as the two faded into the darkness inside the 
building. "Well.... What now?" he asked getting a sudden urge to explore.
Ryo spotted a nice building across the street it looked like a restaurant. When 
he walked in the bar tender noticed him and smiled. "Visiting again? "
Ryo looked confused. the barkeep thumbed a door. "That way." Ryo walked up the 
stairs. Curious, tThe door on the other end of the hallway was slightly open, 
music was pouring out. The door opened wider, a little girl in a dress saw 
him "There you are! " Jenga ran towards Ryo, throwing herself into his arms. " 
Your late! " With that, she pulled Ryo into the bright apartment.
Sabyien was setting a table, He looked up and smiled as he added an extra place 
at the table. The piano music continued. Sabyien walked into the room. "Glad 
you can make it Ryo. Jenga, can you go tell your father that dinner's ready?"
The little girl nodded and ran to another room. Ryo followed Sabyien into the 
kitchen, Sabyien had prepared dinner and tasted several of them before bringing 
them to the table. The music had stopped, "Ryo?" Seth walked into the dinning 
room, several sheets of music in his hands. Jenga hopped up on a chair, waiting.
"Seth?" Ryo frowned, when both Saby and Seth sat at the table, he noticed the 
gold rings on their fingers. A chill went though him. the scene before him was 
that a happy family having dinner. Seth laughed out loud at Jenga's joke, 
throwing his head back.....no fangs....he was human.
The others began into the meal Ryo sat felling awkward. "Umm... please excuse 
me...but im not hungry may I be excused?"
Seth looked at him concerned. "Are you ok kiddo?" he stood up and walked around 
the table and put his hand on the boys forehead. "You don't feel any different."
"No I'm not sick... i just ate earlier... sorry." he moved Seth's hand and 
stood. "I'll be right back." he made a hasty retreat to the door and shut it he 
leaned against the wall by the door.... why was it that felt right to him he 
shook it off and continued on looking into a darkened hall way. He carefully 
walked into the darkened area until he came to another ajar door, he walked in 
letting his eyes adjust to the candle light inside, he was now standing at the 
side of a bed. He could see someone's outline behind a thin curtain. Ryo 
turned, he didn't want to see this, he had a feeling he knew what it was. and 
headed out. "Where to now?" 
Ryo walked out of the building...the area outside had changed....it was a 
darkened field,in the moonlight, he could make out a pair in armor fighting off 
a bunch of swordsmen. They succeeded, The shorter one pulled off his helmet. 
His hair was just brushing his shoulders but Ryo recognized him. It was Sabyien!
Remembering that story in the train, Ryo now knew that he was seeing someone's 
dreams. But which one? Seth or Sabyien?

"Hey!!" he called out starting towards them. He waved and started to run. "Hey! 
Saby! Seth! Hey!" he called out they didn't hear him again. he ran to them 
stumbled and fell landing in front of him.

"-you? Ryo?" Someone was shaking him awake, Ryo blinked "Uhm, I'm a awake, 
awake."
Ariel frowned. "Awaken Sabyien, we're landing soon." Ryo nodded, then tries to 
raise his hand but....looking down he saw that Sabyien's hand was closed around 
his. "Sabyien?" He shook the guardian's shoulder. Sabyien's eyes opened "Oh? 
did I fall asleep?"
Behind them Ariel tapped Seth..."Uh, Seth? We are landing soon. Seth let out a 
yawn. "Of chorse, of chorse."
After the landing, as they filed out Seth and Sabyien looked at each 
other. Meeting in person with Michael was not a good sign.
Ryo walked through the terminal and stopped looking around he had heard one of 
the others mentioning an escort. he waited for the others to catch up.
"A man with dark hair walked up to ryo looking over his glasses at ryo he was 
unshaven his grey eyes almost piercing the boys soul. "Its been a long time now 
hasn't it." Ryo looked up at him not recognizing him for a moment. "Hi 
Mike...What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you. How's your sister Anne?" he asked calmly.
"Still pissed at you. You left her to raise the twins on her own, that's not 
good."
"Something came up. Will you all come with me?" The man lead them to a pair of 
black cars. Standing in front one the lead car was a tall man in a dark grey 
suit, his red hair slicked back from his face. He took off his sunglasses and 
greeted Sabyien with a slight bow. "Guardian..."
Saby returned the bow with formality, "A pleasure to see you again Raphael."
Raphael looked back "Come on... Michael's waiting. Everyone in the 
car." he said turning on the engine.
Sabyien had to smile. He's as stiff as ever. Ryo and Sabyien rode with Raphael, 
while Seth went with Ariel and Gabriel in the other car with Mike.
The red-haired angel was looking at Ryo with an intensity that made the boy 
nervous. Seeing this, Sabyien cleared his throat, "Where will we be meeting 
Michael?"
"At the Lanzen hotel outside Paris." Raphael's accent slipping into his voice.
"Where is Jenga?"
"The young lady is with him." Raphael answered, formally. His tone didn't 
encourage anymore conversation.
The car ride was silent and when they did pull up to an amazing beautiful old 
building Ryo forgot about Raphael. "Wow...that looks very old."
"Yes, it is." Sabyien waited while the driver opened the door for Ryo. "Built 
in the 1600s I believe."
The other car pulled up and when the others joined them, they were all lead 
into the hotel. Ryo found himself trying to look at everything. the halls were 
marble, rich velvet drapery the deep plush carpeting....
Mr. Davis stopped at a set of double doors, He opened them and gesture them to 
go in. Raphael went in first, followed by the three travelers, then the other 2 
angels.

The room was an airy sitting room, the large windows on the one side of the 
room were open, the sheer curtains drifted in the gentle breeze. Michael was 
sitting by the windows, a little girl in his lap. He let Jenga down and stood 
up to greet them. But Jenga seeing Seth, ran ahead and flung herself into his 
arms. "Papa!" Seth hugged her tight. "Jenga...my dear.."
Raphael seemed slightly embarrassed by the little girl's out burst but Michael 
smiled. "It seems that she was right....Seth is her father now."
Seth gave the angel a smile of gratitude.
Now that Michael had come closer Ryo saw that his hair was almost as long as 
Sabyien's but fell in thick waves of deep, rich brown, and his face was just as 
eternally youthful. Michael held up a hand to Sabyien, "Guardian... Sabyien 
pressed his hand into Michael's, and in an unknown language he said. ~~" In 
honoring your family's pact , I greet you Michael Leonheart."~~
Michael smiled and dropped his hand. He turned to Ryo, "You are the Saint?" Ryo 
stared, Michael's eyes were milky blue, and with out pupils. He was blind!
Ryo stood up straighter. "Umm... I guess... that's what they say."
Michael laughed. "Aha... I see." he put his hand on Ryo's face. "Hmmm... so 
that's true too, you do have a demon in you. Interesting..." he turned to 
Sabyien "And I suppose what I've heard about you too, is also true? Sleeping 
with the saint?"
"No. I know I am not supposed to."
"Yes. Well I suppose we should stop with the pleasantries. Now let me tell you 
why your here."
Michael turned his body inviting the Guardian to join him in the garden outside 
so that he and Sabyien could talk in private.
Leaving Ryo in the care of the others, Sabyien walked along the stone path , 
the rose gardens giving a pang of homesickness. Michael could almost feel the 
guardian's emotions. "You want to go home...don't you?"
Sabyien stopped, he looked at this being who was centuries younger then he was, 
but it was said that Michael could see into a person's soul. Saby nodded. then 
realized that Michael needed to hear him say...."Yes, I want to go home."
"How do you plan on doing that?"
Sabyien titled his head to one side, observing the formal robes Michael was 
wearing, it was the same kind of clothing that king Richard wore in his meeting 
with him over 900 years ago. "There is a ritual that I must perform, to summon 
the Sword of light..."
"....Then you'd want your armor back won't you?" Michael fingered a jewel that 
hung around his neck, the jewel was the same deep blue as Sabyien's eyes.
"Yes, Michael, I need it back." Sabyien's eyes were locked on that jewel. That 
pendent Michael had contained the magic armor Sabyien had brought with from 
Ashaland. He needed it to do the Sword-summoning ritual properly.

Ryo looked around the office taking everything in, suddenly his stomach let out 
a loud growl. he looked at the others. jenga laughed at him.
"Are you hungry kid?" Seth asked looking over his young charge at him. Davis 
Michael's man-servant turned. "I'll take you to the kitchens, if anyone else is 
hungry come with me." he exited. Ryo not far behind, still looking around in 
awe.

Michael's hand closed around around the jewel, braking Sabyien's 
gaze. "Guardian, remember the pact, you have to give my family the Holy Grail 
in exchange for this."
"Yes, I know Michael....I have the Grail with me."
The angel's sightless eyes widened, I shouldn't doubt him, after all the 
stories my parents had told me about about him and the stories that I heard 
from the others...I've never got to meet him in person. "Hold on to it for now. 
I need to...."
"Excuse me, Michael..." Raphael had walked up to them, he stopped and gave a 
slight bow. "There is something that I need to inform you."
"What is it?"
"The reports I've received, the demon attacks have increased all over the 
world, Our forces have drop to more them half during the last week."
Sabyien saw Michael shake his head sadly. "Sabyien, we don't have a lot of 
time. Tomorrow...."
"I cannot perform the Ritual, the Saint is....Ryo is..." Sabyien couldn't 
finish.
Raphael was waved back into the building, "I know about about Ryo's shattered 
spirit. " Michael smiled, "It will be alright...he loves you, and you love him 
don't you?"
Sabyien smiled.

Ryo bit down on the chicken sandwich. Seth was sitting in a chair nearby 
watching him and Jenga eat. Ariel had run off on an errand for Raphael and 
Gabriel was leaning against the oak table, chatting with Jenga, his own supper 
already finished.
"Papa, Michael told me that you are a Vampire."
Ryo stopped in mid-bite, he and Gabe glanced at Seth to see what his reaction 
was. "Oh? what did he say?"
"Lot of things, Like you have to drink blood...not because you want to, but cus 
you have to. And that you've lived along time!"
".....he didn't say that I was monster did he?"
"No....he said that a vampire who has a heart is still a human."
Ryo continued to chew wondering where the conversation would lead to next. he 
took another bite of his sandwich and stopped. he reached into his mouth and 
pulled out a small fragment of bone he touched his tongue he was bleeding. he 
stood up to head to the bathroom seth watched him smelling blood. "Are you 
alright need some help?"
"I'm fine." Ryo snapped a little more moodily than he intended. he had felt 
rather stressed lately, despite how he had tried to hide it. Seth looked at him 
surprised.
"Geez... sorry." Ryo turned and entered the bathroom slamming the door shut 
behind him he looked at himself in the mirror. while pressing some paper towel 
to his bleeding tongue. his reflection seemed to change under his gaze until it 
looked as the demon. 'Let me out.'
