Episode 8 was alright. My favorite anime girl, Asuka, made her debute here. Misato, Shinji, and his friends were out in the ocean, helping to transport unit 02 to Nerv. Asuka, the pilot of unit 02, was also there of course. Misato found that her old boyfriend, Kaji was also there, and that this trip wasn't going to be very fun because of it. An angel attacks while they're transporting unit 02, and Asuka and Shinji take unit 2 to fight it. They beat it by opening it's mouth and having two battleships rush in and self-destruct. At the end, Shinji's friends are glad they don't have to see her anymore, but it turns out she transfered to their school. This episode was pretty cool. It also did a good job of introducing the new charecters and their personalities right from the start.
