May I Be Excused?

"Please God I have my hand up. May I be excused
for a while from this huge classroom,
where we live and learn the lessons of life?
I am finding the lessons of this world
too hard to learn.
Can I stop off for a while to rest in a quiet place?
As you know I have lost my child
and I'm very tired of this this day that I'm in.
The role is too hard, the words are false.
My face is a mask and my smile is unreal.
The only truth I see is love, so please God,
may I be excused from traveling on this road for a while?
I've had my hand up for a long time."
