In other action, Sabino Springs' developers early Tuesday withdrew an application to increase their land grading at the Far Northeast Side project after they couldn't reach a compromise with environmental groups. The Perini Land and Development Co. proposal faced opposition from three supervisors: Grijalva, Sharon Bronson and Ray Carroll.
The developers will build their project as previously approved: up to 44 homes, grading up to 9,200 square feet each, said Mike Grassinger, Perini's planning consultant.
The developers might still remove three homes to protect two rare springs on the site, he said.
