Sean Archer is Top-FBI-agent und already since years in
the search of one man: Castor Tory, a brillant criminalgenius! The reasion:
7 years ago, Troy killed Archer's son. Now it seems, Archers did it finally
and found him. But what looks like the end of the hunting, is the start
of cruel game of life and death. Castor placed a nuclear bombe somewhere
in Los Angeles and only his brother sitting in the prison knows where.
It seems there is now way out. Suddenly two FBI-colleagues
come to Archer and suggest him an operation. He shall become Troy! How?
The latest technology makes it possible to change the faces of people.
With Troy's face Archer has Pollux' faith and can find out where the bombe
is hidden to defuse at the right time.
| The operation goes well and Archer/Troy is brought to
the high-security prison, where Pollux is taken into custody too.
In the meantime Troy awakes out of his coma. He forces the doctors to change him into |

At the funeral of Archers boss who is said to have died
because of a heart attack (but in true through Troy), there is the crucial
fight between Archer and Troy. They have a fight through the church, the
harbour and over the water to the other end of the harbour. But the winner
is sure: It's Archer, with the face of Troy.
The back-alteration also goes without problems and Archer returns with his own face |

Some quotes of Face/off:
"Everytime you look in the mirror,
you'll see my face."
"I was trying to kill you, the boy was an accident.
But you had to take it so personally.
Why don't you just kill yourself or let it go?"
Criticism:
A film a bit different than others! Who other has the
idea to change into his worst enemy? The actors were brillant when they
played each other. It seems the director really used masks and didn't simply
change the actors.
