Proofs

Very often the truth that is contained in The Bible is questioned because of the lack of proof. In fact, proof of the truth of The Bible is all around us. Many times in what people say, how people act and even old axoms that many people hold as truth. Does The Bible need proof? No. The Bible is true whether these proofs are here or not, however, these proofs are interesting to note. As you are reading and you notice that I have gotten something wrong, please either e'mail me {[email protected]} with Bible Proof Corrections in the subject or go to my messageboard and let me know. Philippians 4:8} Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

This verse is a verse concerning what the Christian is to focus his thoughts on in order to have peace. How is this a truth? Simply this: medical science has proven that a negative outlook often results in a weak immune system and high levels of stress, causing damage to the heart and small blood vessels through out your body. A positive outlook results in a healthy immune system and less stress. Through this fact the world has proven that obedience to God is how to live a peaceful life.

1 Corinthians 2:14} But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

This verse is in reference to Jesus, His divinity, burial, resurrection and values. Therefore anytime a natural man {a.k.a. someone who is unsaved} declares your belief in Jesus to be foolish {in whatever way he does this} he has just proven The Bible to be correct. This is also true when you encounter resistance to holding to the values of Jesus, which are The Bible.

Proverbs 18:22}Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.

In this verse marriage is shown to have a positive effect on the the people who are married. Every year that the census is done the fact that married peope live longer and healthier lives comes to light.

Proverbs 18:24}A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

This verse speaks about friendship and states an old axom, that many hold to be truth, backwards. This axom: you must be a friend to have a friend. Another truth that is brought forth is this: the friends that have been with you through life and have been there for you, as a family member would be; are very often considered your true or best friend.

Proverbs 20:6} Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

We all have known the type. Look how great I am, look how lucky I am, look how great things are because of what I did. Totally focused on themselves and how great they are, instead of giving credit where it is due. Namely, thanks to God for the blessings that He has bestowed on this person.

Proverbs 21:10} The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

The wicked in this verse is the unbeliever and the evil that the unbeliever desires is sin. Sin covers a wide range of things but one of the most common of the evil desires that is known is fornication/adultry, also known as sex outside of marriage. The unsaved very often have no problem with having multiple sexual partners outside of the bonds of marriage, cheating on the spouse, or having open relationships. Homosexuality is another well known sin that many people desire to engage in. As well as cussing, lieing, stealing, dressing in a provocative way, pornography and many others. Very often these same people will not have good things to say about the people around them, unless those people have not told them they are wrong.

John 15:18-20} If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep your's also.
2 Timothy 3:12} Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

In this day and age there are people in Asian countries who are tortured, maimed and killed for spreading the good news of Jesus. In America, people are being arrested for reading from The Bible verses that say homosexuality is wrong and there is an overall negativity towards Christianity itself. These verses also apply to any time you are scoffed at or made fun of for standing and applying the values that are found in The Bible.

KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan man is being prosecuted in a Kabul court and could be sentenced to death on a charge of converting from Islam to Christianity, a crime under this country's Islamic laws, a judge said Sunday. The trial is believed to be the first of its kind in Afghanistan and highlights a struggle between religious conservatives and reformists over what shape Islam should take here four years after the ouster of the Islamic fundamentalist Taliban regime. The defendant, 41-yer-old Abdul Rahman, was arrested last month after his family accused him of becoming a Christian, Judge Ansarullah Mawlavezada told The Associated Press in an interview. Rahman was charged with rejecting Islam and his trial started Thursday. During the one-day hearing, the defendant confessed that he converted from Islam to Christianity 16 years ago while working as a medical aid worker for an international Christian group helping Afghan refugees in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, Mawlavezada said. "We are not against any particular religion in the world. But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law," the judge said. "It is an attack on Islam." Mawlavezada said he would rule on the case within two months. Afghanistan's constitution is based on Shariah law, which is interpreted by many Muslims to require that any Muslim who rejects Islam be sentenced to death, said Ahmad Fahim Hakim, deputy chairman of the state-sponsored Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission. Repeated attempts to interview Rahman in detention were barred. The prosecutor, Abdul Wasi, said he had offered to drop the charges if Rahman converted back to Islam, but he refused. "He would have been forgiven if he changed back. But he said he was a Christian and would always remain one," Wasi told AP. "We are Muslims and becoming a Christian is against our laws. He must get the death penalty." After being an aid worker for four years in Pakistan, Rahman moved to Germany for nine years, his father, Abdul Manan, said outside his Kabul home. Rahman returned to Afghanistan in 2002 and tried to gain custody of his two daughters, now aged 13 and 14, who had been living with their grandparents their whole lives, the father said. A custody battle ensued and the matter was taken to the police. During questioning, it emerged that Rahman was a Christian and was carrying a Bible. He was immediately arrested and charged, the father said. Afghanistan is a conservative Islamic country. Some 99 percent of its 28 million people are Muslim, and the remainder are mainly Hindu. A Christian aid worker in Kabul, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said there was no reliable figure for the number of Christians, though it was believed to be only in the dozens or low hundreds. He said few admit their faith because of fear of retribution and there are no known Afghan churches. An old house in a war-wrecked suburb of Kabul serves as a Christian place of worship for expatriates. From the muddy street, the building looks like any other. Its guard, Abdul Wahid, said no Afghans go there. The only other churches are believed to be inside foreign embassies or on bases belonging to the U.S.-led coalition or a NATO peacekeeping force. Hakim, the human rights advocate, said the case would attract widespread attention in Afghanistan and could be exploited by Muslim conservatives to rally opposition to reformists who are trying to moderate how the religion is practiced here. "The reformists are trying to bring about positive changes," he said. "This case could be fertile ground for extremists to manipulate things." Muslim clerics still hold considerable power in Afghanistan, especially in rural areas where most women wear all-encompassing burqas and are dominated by men. Hakim said that if Rahman was acquitted, it would be a propaganda win for the Taliban rebels, who have stepped up their insurgency in the past year. In the months before U.S.-led troops ousted the Taliban in 2001, it claimed Western aid groups were trying to convert Afghan Muslims. They arrested eight foreign aid workers for allegedly preaching Christianity, but later released them unharmed.

Ephesians 4:17-20} This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened being allienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ.

This verse I'm going to break down a bit. The first section to be addressed is: "henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind," This part is basically talking about the tendency people have to do/belive something on the basis of "I think it is, so it is". Second section: "Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness." Lasciviousness is defined as: Given to or expressing lust; lecherous. Exciting sexual desires; salacious. What you can see in this is the desire many people have to go out and be sexually active outside of marriage, to participate in pornography {however light and in whatever way; be it drawing, buying/collecting or selling}, not to mention strip clubs and the like. The greediness comes through in how popular these types of things are, how people will go to just about any lengths to have them, how movies which contain sex scenes do better than other movies and are often given awards.

Hebrews 4:2} For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The unsaved do not do not understand or take to heart in their lives the Word of God because they have no belief/faith in Jesus.

Hebrews 4:12} For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

As an unbeliever and even as a back sliden believer, the Word very often felt as though it was a sharp knife cutting into me. It was the feeling that comes with being convicted of living wrong and doing something wrong. One way that you can see The Bible discerning thoughts and intents of the heart is: Someone wants to do something, you tell them it's against what God says is correct in The Bible. They make up some excuse and do it anyway. The Bible just showed that their intention is toward their wants and desires, not Gods'.

1 Corinthians 8:3} If any man love God, the same is known of him.

If you love God you follow His ways. You don't just talk the talk, you walk the walk and people can tell you are Christian because of that.
