Upon a Sudden Change
Hey!
Stop that!
Don't look at me so!
This was over so long
ago
Our vine split into two
branches
And we grew separately
for so long
But through some emotional
avalanches
The vine is one - just
how it belongs?
This was so sudden - we've
both been blindsided
Seventeen hours - what
a difference it makes!
Our platonic friendship
in which we both prided
Reblooms as a rose before
the day breaks
It's madness - it's folly
-
Who knows what's in store?
Yet the clouds melancholy
All scatter before
The glow on our faces
- just irrepressable!
With 112 days to run this
new course
All our emotions are now
expressable
We have somehow resurrected
the horse
We'll ridfe it to sunset
though our days are numbered
And this will be different
from that of before
For this time of doing
we'll be unencumbered
With worries and chains
that made us heartsore.
Then you to your mission
and I to my college
Both of us will be able
to acknowledge
We followed our hearts
and ignored our heads
Choosing not lonelihood
but us instead.
