Jeri's Song

I've been trapped in this town since I was three
Always pushed with the crowd, unable to be
My own person with a mind of my wn and a will to be free
I often dream of how it would be if I could just be free
I know there's sometihng larger than this out there waiting for me

I only wish that I could go beyond this three mile radius
I've never seen desert, ocean or snow - just old buildings covered in dust
It would be so easy; I just have to walk out that door
I'm afraid to move and yet I know that I want something more

Nobody in this town really can see
Life is more than just lint or gastronomy
No ambitions to get out, go away, to pursue any dreams
I'm not the same! I want to escape and sail the seven seas
I know that life's exciting out there! That's where I want to be...

(Spoken) I wish, just for once, something exciting would happen to me. (Twists off bottle cap, looks at it in amazement) Oh my goodnesa! I don't believe it! I won the African safari!

(Sung)

Now there's a way that I can go beyond this three mile radius
And now I'll see desert, ocean and snow, for by a miracle I've been thrust
This opportunity! I just have to walk out that door
And now I finally have the way to reach out for something more

Jeri's Song: Reprise

I never expected that I'd get the chance to explore
A simple twist of a bottle cap and I've got so much more

Jeri's Song: Reprise 2

We don't know for now we have the entire world open to us
We can see desert ocean or snow - we'll just go where the wind gusts
Now we are so happy! Our lives are no longer poor
The safari trip has changed our lives and we've got so much more!
