Hues

If I had to choose you a color

You'd undeniably be blue

Darker, brighter, greener, purpler

Although the exact hue

Pulsates from day to day

You're easily recognizable as blue

My color is yellow, and like everyone's

It shifts cautiously through its spectrum

But it is still yellow, optimistic and shining

I cannot fathom how you can be blue

That color is so alien to my limited perspective

I shoot yellow rays over to you

Bravely attempting to instigate a color shift

While keeping mine steady under your bombardment

Yet I secretly hope I will be as green

As I am attempting to make you

For green is the color of living growth

And I dream of growing a garden together.
