Green Thumb

I examined my heart the other day, and

To my surprise I fgound it wilted

I entrusted it to you to care for

But you've been neglecting your duties

The seed of love sprouted awhile ago

You rained it with affection

And fertilized it with kisses

Nourishing it with a tender hand

But the daily storms of your affection

Are few and far between

My heart is parched!

You dump extra-strength fertilizer on it

With the same frequency as before, but

Fertilizer alone will grow nothing

I thirst for you

And my heart continues to wilt each

Night you trade it for pizza

Please, don't let our love die.
