Temptations to drink and gamble
Temptations to lie and cheat
Glamorized by Holywood's crude movies
The chastity once so valued
Tossed away like a useless toy
The world revels its
Its "new morality"

We live in a time of troubles
Where sin is easy to find
And the world accepts with a smile and nod
Though some of the true and valiant
Have fallen to Satan's ploys
Most of the Saints
Cling to the iron rod

What helps them do this?
What helps them stay so pure?
How can they succeed where others have failed?
How can they be secure?

Faith
In the Lord Jesus Christ and hope for His return
Faith
In the words of prophets both ancient and modern
Faith
In the scriptures that they'll happen some day
When buffetted from most every side
They stay strong through faith

The knowledge of that which follows
And the waiting for judgement day
Time spent in prayer morning, noon and night
The knowledge that all the spirits
Shall soon be quite overjoyed
With temple work
To free them from their plight

How can they know this?
How can they be so sure?
How can they know things when others do not?
What is their signature?

What's hoped for and not seen

With hope and charity

That Christ will reappear

There'll be a millenial year

They'll be saved in the last day because of their great

That Christ rose from the dead, though we never saw Him

Inheriting our blessings
Because we kept the faith
