Lately my life has been a soap opera - so many characters, so many interactions and storylines! It's really been quite interesting. Here's a brief episodic guide - click here to skip to the most recent event. Click on the names and other links to find more information.

Thursday, February 1, Evening: This afternoon, as Beth was preparing to go to class, she received a phone call from Brad in the library, saying he had tickets to go see My Fair Lady. Beth acts cool on the phone, but jumps at the chance to go. She meets Brad at the Cannon Center for dinner along with Leslie and Dolly. She has a little bit of trouble talking, but once they leave, Beth gets the courage and gumption to keep the conversation going. After stopping at Cosmo's for cold medicine, they continue on to the play, talking about Spanish, work to do, and how stinking COLD it was. Beth felt comfortable and confident. Brad held the doors for Beth, and said that he would pull out her chair at the theatre if it was pull-out-able. He even apologized for his casual attire and complimented Beth on her hair and skirt. The play was most enjoyable for everyone involved. On the way back, Brad insisted that Beth wear his coat. They spoke of random things as Brad walked Beth all the way back to the door to her hallway.

Friday, February 2, Evening: Beth returned from hearing Elder Maxwell speak to find that Craig had called, leaving a message where he sounded totally depressed. Beth tried to investigate, but was unsuccessful in discovering the cause. Could he have heard of the previous night's date? We'll never know...

Saturday, February 3, Morning: Brad came to the temple with Beth today. Metta and Beth did most of the talking on the way up. Beth felt stupid because she forgot her temple recommend, so she had to stay in the lobby. She read her scriptures and Articles of Faith by Elder Talmage. Brad came back first, and discussed with Beth the Spirit of the temple. Then Metta returned, and they walked back. Beth and Brad were talking more now. When they got to the laundry, Brad gave her his coat after she had seemed cold. Beth was excited. Beth and Brad talked about video games and computers until reaching the Cannon Center. Metta left, but Brad stayed for breakfast with Beth. He stayed put even when Beth took longer in eating, and then he walked her to her door again. Beth gave Brad some Dayquil, after which he gave her the special handshake and departed.

Saturday, February 3, Afternoon: Beth and Leslie go wandering around Orem to find the Mary Kay lady's house. They get a facial, and the Mary Kay lady takes them home.

Saturday, February 3, Evening: Beth went to dinner with Leslie and spotted Craig in the cafeteria. She pretended not to notice until she was walking by, and then she was overly concerned with finding the booth where Leslie put her coat. Beth and Leslie ate their dinner while Craig sat with RA, She-RA, and some other guy. After the guy, RA, and She-RA had departed, Craig got up, wandered around the food area, sat down, got up, wandered toward Beth and Leslie, sat down, goit up, pulled a chair to Beth and Leslie's table, and finally sat down. Beth concentrated on making a ball of sticky rice. Craig was overly happy and buoyant - Beth wasn't sure if it was sincere or a put-on. Craig helped Leslie with her jacket as Beth started to the door. Craig tried to take Beth's tray, but she slapped him away. She speaks with Larilyn, and Craig tries to grab tray again. Beth slaps him away again, and then slides tray into the disposal, where the rice ball is promptly disposed of.

Saturday, February 3, Night: While Beth is detailing the saga to her best friend, Leslie bursts in and announces that Milko, Desiree and others are playing games in the lobby. Not too long after, she announces that Brad has shown up. Beth waits a moment then goes to get popcorn and "happens" to run into Brad and Milko. They are ordering a pizza. Milko invites her to join in the games in the lobby, so she goes in and flops on the sofa. The game is Mafia, and Beth is confused. After one game, Brad invites Beth to sit on the floor. She does, and tries to play. Afterward, as Brad and Milko go to get the pizza, the rest of the group decides to go play capture the flag. Beth doesn't like cold, so she declines. They all leave, making Beth conveniently alone when Brad and Milko come back with the pizza. After Beth invites Leslie to partake of the pizza, however, the group has returned. They leave after getting pizza - all but Desiree, who plops herself on the couch right next to Brad. Beth chats with Leslie and ignores the situation (of which she is acutely aware). They watch Grease. Desiree is silent, which is normal, but Brad is too, which is odd. Metta, Dolly, Leslie, Jaylee, and Beth burst into song in time with the movie. Brad and Desiree then join the large group to go to a movie. Beth is wringing her hands, but grins and wishes everyone well. Brad gives Beth the special handshake and departs. Beth later mulls it all over with Dolly and Leslie, then joins Jaylee and Metta for a dance party.

Sunday, February 4, Night: Metta brings up the possibility that there may not be any genuine emotion emanating from Brad. Instead, he could just see Beth as the new convert who needs to be fellowshipped. Beth hopes that's no the case, but if it is, she will be exceedingly angry.

Tuesday, February 6, Evening: Beth called up Brad and invited him to come to dinner with her, Dolly, Leslie, and Jaylee. After Brad admitted that he had lost his wallet, Beth insists on paying for his dinner on her card (go Dining Plus!). She meets him in the Cannon Center lobby and they join the rest of the group. Brad is fairly quiet, which is odd. Beth tries to draw him out, but is not very successful. Then Craig comes and plops a chair right next to Beth. She kind of ignores him and tries to talk more to Brad. Eventually, everyone leaves.

Monday, February 12, Evening: Beth goes to dinner with her firends and although Brad doesn't sit with her table, he sits with another table and periodically comes over. He speaks with Leslie in Spanish, hugs Dolly, and winks and points at Beth when she sings Hakuna Matata with Jaylee. He comes and invites them to play games, so Leslie and Beth get up to take their trays back. Brad is huggling Leslie, linking arms with her, and so forth. After Leslie leaves to go get the other girls, Brad asks Beth if she's going to be at the Valentine's dance on Wednesday, Beth thinks "Well, duh, I'm the one who sent out the invitations," but simply says that yes, she will be there helping Jaylee's roommate with the music.
