Theme

Character � the individuals that take part in the action of a story
Main Character 0 the individuals that the center of the story revolves around
Minor Character � less prominent individuals
Dynamic Characters � Main characters that undergo change as the plot unfolds
Static Characters � individuals that remain with the same personalities and traits throughout the story.

Setting � states the time and place where events take place
Plot � the chain of related events that take place in a story
Exposition � lays the groundwork for the plot and gives the reader essential information
Inciting Incident � the event that begins the action (sometimes the opening conflict)
Rising Action � usually occurs when complications arise and the characters struggle to settle it, suspense builds
Climax � the turning point of the story when interest and intensity reach their peak
Falling Action � events happen after the climax, sometimes conflict is solved and intensity subsides
Resolution � the tangle of plot is untied and mysteries are solved

Theme � the important idea or message conveyed by a work of fiction
