I believe that the people did realize the war atrocities and the many crimes that were going on during this time, but that they chose not to believe it. To many I believe that Hitler and others formed their German society with praises and good things towards the German people so they did not want to lose their jobs and such for the sake of someone else. I think that if I was in this circumstance I would probably try to help the Jewish people by way of secret, not in open protest to the things they were doing. I would probably help providing necessities and ensure a secure place to stay during the holocaust. Yes I believe that genocide can and is happening again. We can see it in different forms around the world. For example the people in Iran and Iraq are witnessing a form of genocide. Hopefully genocide will not continue to be a problem. |
