JOURNAL 5

Find information on the Internet that discusses prison camps during WWI.  Describe the conditions of the camps.  Use freighting, telescoping, and splitting the second strategies so that you "show," not "tell." (My homage to Mrs. Don't Eat-the-paste of your 5th grade experience.)

Camp conditions during WWI were very harsh and gruelling. Prisoners werent given any rights or abilities during the war. They would be ridiculed, mocked, and even abused by the enemy, the prejudice, the people running the camps. Food was scarce and many had to pick through garbage cans for their food which wasn't very efficient since most of the food was already eaten by the starving soldiers. Their frail bodies littered the ground and their moans could be heard throughout the trenches and fields.
