Like A Dove.

I want to feel the wind rush through me,
I want to be on top of the world,
From a birds view I will see,
The whole world beneath me,
The patchwork of landscape,
The winding rivers,
Up along with the clouds,
My soul will be free,

From the valleys below,
And the clouds above,
My senses I follow,
And I fly like a dove,

I want to breath a different air,
I want to break new ground,
Fly for my country,
Like a flag - so proud,
With the star and the crescent,
Make a name for myself,
Only God knows my destiny,
As my people I help,

From the cities below,
To the skies above,
My instincts I follow,
As I fly like a dove.

Snapdragon Drive.

I was lost in a place I did not recognise,
Brought to my senses by my own intuition,
Lost in a world you could only fantasise,
Brought here through condemnation,
Does it all sound familiar?
Been down that road before?
Its the only road I fear,
Its where my ship hits the shore,

Its the same old story,
Just took the wrong turning,
Went out looking for glory,
And ended up burning,
In this flame of greed,
But I've been down that road before,
And I know my luck is changing,
Its when the wind hits my sails,

This road that I talk about,
Is the road through everyone's lives
, Curse about - cry about,
Its the place where people thrive,
Where they learn from mistakes,
I call it Snapdragon Drive.

The Thirteen Gates.

I soak up the atmosphere in my heart,
See the sun rise at dawn,
Watch the breeze give a siesta sigh,
Hear the raindrops on the lawn,
I feel this place reminds me of a city I once knew,
Touch the walls of a great Mosque,
That was once brand new,

The tower watches over us like an angel,
Shadowing the streets by day,
It has a presence so strong,
Its a dream - wouldn't you say?
The hustle bustle of the trams and trains,
The cries of an old beggar,
The dust I bite between my teeth,
Wind blows fumes in my face,

I joy to the fruits here,
It feels like a gift to me,
Its not Heaven - not even close,
But a place so dear to me,
"Its the heart" - was someone said,
"Its the place to be",
A city brimming with patriotism,
Its the place to see,
Its the city of a thousand dreams,
Its the city of thirteen gates.

The Open Window.

There's a moon shining in the glittering sky,
Like a bird flying - flying so high,
There's a mountain standing so tall and proud,
Like a stray dog waiting to be found
There's a cool breeze on a mountain top,
Like a tap running - never seems to stop,
There's a book lying on an otherwise empty shelf,
There's more to learn in life than about yourself,

There's a puddle on the ground with a dog licking,
Like a ball worn-out but children still kicking,
There's a chill in the air when the sun's blazing hot,
Like a boy in the ghetto who has just been shot,
There's a cold wind blowing through an open window,
Like a faint crying of a lonely dark widow,

Tomorrow will take care of itself,
Like its done so many times before,
Sorrow will soon pass me by,
Is it a sin to ask for more?

I cannot say - that I pray everyday,
But my hopes are still there,
I cannot believe everything I see,
But what I see - is what I can share,

So what does it all mean - what does life say?
Its the world around me that leaves me this way.

Rush To Heaven

The wings of time
Takes its flight
Through the darkness
Of the night
It calls a name
And collects the ones
The ones who have found
The true meaning
For they need never need anymore

As they watch
Their shadows fall
The night takes its toll
And the men
They will see
Time will take
It's flight of fancy
For they fear not fear anymore

How they wish
To rush to heaven
Do they fear they will not go?
How obliged He is to comply
Does he need them so much?
All the Saints that have sacrificed
All the wishes fly
So many things left undone
All the people left to cry.

Sunshine In The Ghetto

Looking at people today,
They never seem to care,
Maybe some would like to say they do,
Others wouldn't dare,

Seeing all those people today,
Who never seem to share,
Maybe some would kick and scream,
Others just grin and bear,

It's one of those things that shake a nation,
All that racism and segregation,
Some people find the whole thing hectic,
I'll stick to my guns and stay optimistic,

Forget all those tears and pain,
Swallow in that pride,
Take a deep breath and explore the possibilities,
You'll never know - until you've tried,

If there is some way,
"There's sunshine in the ghetto" they'll say,
Tomorrow will take care of itself,
Like its done so many times before,
Sorrow will soon pass me by,
Is it a sin to ask for more?

Lost In The Colours Of You

As I sit and stare,
And I read your face,
Your eyes talk to me,
Words are your embrace,
The clouds above suddenly disappear,
The sky is so blue again,
Your heart beats softly in my ear,
And I'm falling for you again,

it doesn't matter where I am,
I feel your embrace,
Doesn't matter where I look,
I see your face,
All I want is a second chance,
To be with you again,
All I need is a second glance,
And I'm falling in love again,

My heart is lost in the colours of you,
My thoughts are of you,
My soul is lost,
In the colours of you,
My dreams are of you,
Al its takes is one more try,
And you'll love me too.

The River

I hear the bell,
Of a memory,
Taking me back to the days,
I turn back the clock,
Feels like a century,
Fill me - with those days,

Now my life feels like the river,
Drifting away to far far places,
I don't even have a choice,
For rejoice,

I hear them sell,
All the emptiness,
That are being filled day by day,
I feel the cold,
And the senseless,
Looking at life in a different way,

Now my soul feels like the river,
Calling out to the far places,
I don't have half a chance,
For a second glance,

I hear them tell,
One another: "It's okay",
It's time to move on,
But tomorrow brings with it another day,
Of a tearful tale to be told again,
Yet I believe it's a journey to take,
Yes I believe it's a journey to make,

And now my heart feels like the river,
It has swept me from my feet to the horizon,
As the sun sets,
It glitters over me,
As the moon follows,
Reflects over everything,
The river calls out to me,
Come back,
Come back.

The Other Side Of The Mirror

Reflections are made of this,
What appears on the surface,
For my dreams I still persist,
First impressions show this,

But as I look deeper in myself,
I see someone else,
As I look out further,
I see another future,
As I look deeper,
To the other side of the mirror,

Hope was a friend of mine,
Who left me for a while,
Who will come back in good time,
My only sahara as a child,
I can see a new dawn,
Wouldn't call it an end,
My reflection may have let me down,
But hope is still my friend,

The mirror can't show,
Things that I know,
It doesn't speak or cry,
And it won't shed a tear,
Or shudder with fear,
And it will never die.

Heavens Waiting

You there comes a time,
When the fruits of success you eat,
Your taller than a mountain,
And the world is at your feet,
All comes tumbling down,
Like a thunderous cloud,
Rain pouring down you face,
As it hides away those tears,

Sometimes I feel,
Like I've become what I feared,
But there's always a reason,
A reason for those tears,
There's always tomorrow,
You will see,
And heaven can wait,
Just a little longer for me.

Night Falls In Ankara

Even though you are so far away,
I still remember,
Dreams maybe vague,
My dreams are my strength,

Even today my hopes stop me,
Your memories keep me here,
The one who has forgotten me,
I still remember,

For this distance that has become,
Can be as long as it wants,
You are still mine,

Dreams maybe vague,
My dreams are my strength,

Don't know when our paths may cross again,
My hopes are still there,
Memories are still there,
Night falls tonight,
But tomorrow will still be here again.

Walk In your Embrace

My hear skips a beat,
At the mention of her name,
And the memories flood back,
In the sea of dreams again,
There's are rumour going around,
That she's with another face,
And my senses still persist,
Paranoia flies high,
And I'm still dreaming,
And I'm still walking,

My determination doesn't stop my feet,
As I look for the face in the city streets,
And those memories just don't go away,
And the sea just doesn't want to dry,
With my ship wrecked on the shore,
Hopes fly high,
And I keep on dreaming,
And I keep on walking,

As I walk in you embrace,
With such an amazing grace,
I wish to be again with you,
And until that day will come,
I will watch the rising sun,
And my hopes keep rising too.

One Song For All

I dreamt
Of a face
Unmasked, unscathed
In the moon lit sky,
I dreamt
Of a place
Untouched, until
The sun let the moon die,

I've thought of many a thing
I've tried to reach out
To undo wrong
To make one song
Fit for all,

I dreamt
Of eyes
Unclosed, undone
Like the star at night,

I've dreamt
Of hair
Unscented, unless
Words untrue, unsaid,

I've thought of many a thing
I've tried to reach out
To undo wrong
And make one song for all.

Broken Clouds

There is so much I can do,
Given half a chance,
A lone tree standing,
On an empty hill,
A cold breeze,
Fills me right through,

We are just another star,
In the sky at night,
Each with a dream,
Fulfilling our flight,
I still dream,
Sit and wait,

There is so much to do,
In our little space and time,
There is a goal to be reached,
In everyone's life,
Yet we have to search for it,
For it won't come to you,
And it will not knock your door,

We are amongst the broken clouds,
Drifting to far off places,
Drifting for ever more.

Wanderer

As I sit here by the window
I watch the raindrops fall
The crackling of the clouds
The trees stand so tall
Dripping with every drop of water
Of its soul drenched leaves

The pavements sparkle and glitter
The pitter-patter
Make my mind nomadic
Its a good day to remember
A time to let memories free
Like the clouds above, crying
But with the whole world outside
Who is happy?
It it not tears that roll down those faces?

A thunderous cry from above
Because you remember a lost loved one
You try to shelter your heart with your hands
Like an umbrella
The clouds will soon break
Leaking out a ray of sunshine

But with the rain never-ending
Your heart begins to mend
Memories of joy begin to glow
Sounds of emptiness begin to grow
As a rainbow in the distance begins to show.

A Time Like This

Once in a blue moon
Comes a time like this
I feel I can breath again
Never a moment went by where
I was intoxicated by
Those memories

I have read the past
In my book of Psalms
Tearing and tugging
My heart as it
Draws blood and tears from my eyes

Once in a blue moon
Comes a moment of freedom
I feel I can walk again
Never a day would pass where
I was chained to the emotions by
Those memories of mine

I have seen the future
In the river of calm
Meandering and winding
Like the lines on my palm
That you read like a book
And when you take a closer look
You see that somewhere along the way
I forgot my goal

And I lost my way
I know
And it hurts so much
I know
But once in a blue moon
Comes a time like THIS
Where I feel this blue moon
Is late once again
Where I feel I almost forgot
How this blue moon once looked...

The Beginning Of The End

You shook my millenium fears
Across the marble pavillion
Straight from my heart
And into the oblivion
While the dose of Hi-Tech chores
Carries its wieght along
It opens all doors
Singing its faithful song

In the beginning
Of mankinds truth
I saw a glimpse of the future
The ocean replaced the desert
And in its reflection
Was Heaven

You took the sword from the stone
While the pen you did not touch
Straight into the heart
You didnt ask for much
While the drop of blood ran
It carried with it a hope
Of all the songs we sang

And at the end
Of mankinds search
You saw a glimpse of hope
The night replaced the day
And in its affection
Was Heaven.

Dysmorphic Disorders

Come closer,
Let me tell you a tale,
A story so pure,
And yet so stale,
You will never put your trust,
And give away your soul,
This secret that I tell you,
That must be told.

The earth around us,
Moves in mysterious ways,
The cold wars that have left us,
Diseased in many ways,
They injected us with fears,
Moved us,
And reduced us to tears,
Tore our inner sense,
And stole our innocence.

These lies that they tell,
Have diasbled our trust,
Honesty was once a friend,
Who left us,
Deserted us,
This dysmorphic disorder,
That brought us no pleasure,
Have left us in a rut,
With no memories to treasure.
