Those of you who have been on the trail of this find are
probably a bit frustrated. The contact man for this treasure trove (email
: Geoffrey Warlen) tends to
drop out of sight under a load of work projects. All I can say is that persistence
should be rewarded. The owner of all these Saabs is interested in selling
whole cars. Of course its hard to let go of even one, but from what I understand
they have to go. So keep after Geoffrey in Texas and good luck to all!
July 1999 Update: The intrepid Lester of VSAAB has been on the
chase. The latest word on this situation is that the owner of this nest
is not interested in talking to anybody about Saabs at the moment. Unfortunately
for the gentleman, his wife is ill and he simply can't focus on anything
else.
Attention Treasure Hunters!
Any of you who
actually make it to this El Dorado of 96s will no doubt be up to your eyebrows
in goodies. I'm allways looking for ribbed case transmissions and, these
days, any thing of a 'stroker' nature. Keep me in mind if your eyes prove
