At rest temporarily at Johnston Machine, (aka ...the Northern Nevada Saab Museum). John and his dad were all over the car as soon as I brought it in. The uncracked 1960 vintage tail lights were treasured, the paint job and engine deplored, the hinged side windows noted, and the Saab 93 door locks pointed out.

Instant plans were made to 'improve' the car. This is a machine to drive the hell out of. It could be done in one massive blitz. As of this date the following is on the drawing board: install late model 96 rear axle and breaks, install late model 96 front disks, replace 3 speed 1965 2 stroke with a ribbed cased 4 speed and a 1960/61 2 stroke, retrofit four speed shifter and collapsible steering column, add seats and interior from scrounge pile, mount new tires on the sonnet wheels ....and drive the hell out of it. My orchard transmissions have been torn down, a suitable replacement set aside. Parts will be ordered and the Golden Bull will scream again.

This summer I really tore into the Bull.

Special thanks to Mike St. Pierre who sent me the brackets and bumper I was looking for. When all is said, (and sandblasted) I'll only be needing a single overider and a right corner. (Project note: after a year of internet scheming I met Rolfe Jensen of the Swedish Saab Club. Rolfe was in need of some American Edition Saab goodies, and we arranged a trade. The front bumper took awhile but came out great !
