Saab Weekend In Sweden

...The reason was the presentation of the 'lost Sonett I no. 4, which was green and rebuilt in 1963 by a Saab-worker (Sigvard Sorensen) into a Combi Coup called Facett. A German Saab-enthusiast has bought the Facett and the original green body (which was still existing in original good condition) has restored it perfectly! There were 4 of the 6 Sonett I cars together! Also there were 3 of 6 men, who built in 1955 the first Sonett I. They are now very old men, but it was very interestig to talk with tehm about his old time. Also there were of course Erik Carlsson, Rolf Mellde, Torsten Aman, and Anders Tunberg, and in addition Sigvard Sorensen.

Dear Dennis,

Let me give you some background on those Sonett 1 pictures.  As far as I know!
I have a bunch more but have promised to scan them to Vintage Saab in San
Deigo. This summer there was a reunion of all the sonett 1's in Europe---the reason
for this was the restoration of the one that had the Facett body fitted. A Dr in
Germany found the original body and the original chassis and restored it---I
think it's the green car. The white and the blue ones are Saab's cars---the blue one Saab has always had and the white one came from the Phillipsons Museum--which closed a few years ago--its set up for vintage rallying with a 9000 pick-up tow vehicle.The red sonett is either a repro or is the orginal red one still in private hands in
Sweden--the man's name escapes me. The USA red one is a diff hue of red.
This was a invite only event--some of  the orginal factory builders where
there with Erik Carlsson (of course)--many VIPs from Saab past and present.   
Many of the original drawings where shown---I wish I had been there!!!!!!
The only other 2 existing Sonett 1's belong to Saab of USA--a red one and Bill
Jacobson's white with a blue stripe in DE.
My friend in Germany is not on the net.-( he was there)---I hope this info is
correct. I will try to get some more info---on who owns what and let you know!
I have Sonett #171---a two stroke--cool car but not as cool as a my dream
car!!!-a Sonett  1!!!!!!!
