2000-2001 Platform
Human Rights
Along with the Socialist Party-USA, the Socialist Party of Texas, the San Antonio Socialist Party has held standards for human rights every capialitstic country has failed to hold.

We are opposed to trade alliances such as NAFTA, WTO, GATT, and G-7 because they will lead to human rights abuses without public recourse.

We are opposed to "sweat-shops" or any other institution that allows its workers unjust pay and conditions.

We are opposed to child labor below the age of sixteen (16) without proper due process.

We are opposed to the death penalty and are in favor of a Texas Constitutional Amendment abolishing it completely.

We support the institution of a maximum wage, which would keep a company's CEO from recieving more than ten times that of the lowest paid worker.

We are opposed to military domestic law enforcement (i.e. a commandante).

We support an immediate end to the failed "War on Drugs."  We believe substance abuse should be treated medically not legally.
