Characters: There are many charas in Immortals, somewhere in the vecinity of 100+. However, there are 7 MAIN characters: Iblis: strangly enough, Iblis doesn't come into the comic until the 5th chapter, but when he does the ladies can rejoice. He's so cool!! The most powerful character by far, Iblis was the destroyer of the old world and the creator of the current one. You'd never guess by his demeanor. (MY absolute favorite chara!) Islay: The hot-headed Hunter with Fire powers. An orphan with a talent for electric guitar, Islay rarely shows his emotions, except around Sang who he has a special bond with. This pyro has an attitude problem and a habit of excess prophanity, but that's why i love him! Koji: This seemingly happless Slayer happens to be the one whom the story revolves around, even though he comes into it in chapter 3 or 4. Water powered, and with a alter-ego secret, Koji is also the older brother to the Villian!! Sang: Now that i'm done with my favorite charas, on to...me. Sang is a Soul Captor with Air powers. She appears to be the youngest and shortest of the group. She is also the third most powerful out of the Gods. Omar: Islay's Soul Twin. (what's that you ask?) It means they were born under the exact same conditions, at the exact same time and therefore their souls are bound. This means that whatever happens to one happens to the other. Omar's grandfather is the Old Man, and his mom is the old Goddess of Earth. He's a Hunter with Earth Powers. Ladaara: A Soul Captor with Light Powers, and an Eternal!!! (just like Iblis...sorta) Ladaara appears to be the villain at first, until we find she's working for Sephius. But technically, Ladaara is the evil one and Ten is the good one...but let's not get into that... Sephius: The extremely powerful, albeit troubled younger brother of Koji. Sephius was born of his sister and father, and has the curse of feeling every emotion in the world. This gets so strong as he grows that he cannot feel his own, which leads us to his villainous judgment. Naudia: Last and Least (sorry, not a Naudia fan) The Slayer with Kin Powers. She host the troupe in her library in the beginning, before the Guardians come for them. Guardians: (in order from oldest to youngest) Krishna, Varuna, Vishnu, Amphisbaena, Pasiphae Tiamat, Ladon, Iblis. Servants: (in order of appearance and then age) Air: Kita, nishi, Minami, Higashi Fire: Moeru, Kagayaki, Hibana, Moenokori Earth: Mikageishi, Shida, Sugi, Koke Kin: Doubutsu, Kage, Tori, Kawa Water: Mizu, Taki, Gekiryuu, Nagare Light: Higake/Nikkou. Gekkou/Tsuki-kousen (TK for short). [two sets twins] Old Gods: (F,A,W,E,K,L,S) Antioch, Chiron, Amphisbaena, Demeter, Garuda, Rama, Sita. Neo Gods: (F,A,W,E,K,L,S) Kahlo, Kerian, Arabella, Adrielle, Laughlin, Zephyr, Pandora.
Story: There are different kinds of Immortals: Soul Captors: The most powerful kind of Immortals. The were created by the Soul Seeker, a being of two bodies sharing one soul. This made the Soul Seeker unstable and so he began stripping Immortals of their souls to link him to the planet so he wouldn't have a death of soul. Soul Captors are this creation. They cannot be destroyed by any Immortal besides another Soul Captor. Slayers: When Fabian, (the first Soul Captor) catches someone interfere in an Immortal Battle, he will track down the persecutor (this takes moments) and steal their powers. If he does manage to take them, you become Mortal. If your will is strong enough, you become a Slayer. They are more powerful than a normal Immortal, but are unwelcome in the Immortal realms. Hunters: If an Immortal who had their power 'stolen' by Fabian has children, their natural power that they can no longer tap into is intensified in their child. These are Hunters, they have Mortal lifespans, but the power of a normal Immortal. Immortals: A being created by Iblis during the creation of the world.Immortals have powers that can be clasified as one of the 7 elemental catagories: Air, Light, Spirit, Fire, Water, Earth, Kin. Stop aging at a certain Mortal age, (different for each) and live until destroyed by another. Mortals: Also created by Iblis in the creation of the world. You and i are mortals, no powers, no extra long life, just plain, simple and unknowing of the other Realms. Eternals: The Old World Dwellers. There are two types still alive, Guardians, and Servants. (see left) When Iblis destroyed Krishna's world, it was because of Krishna's fear of dying. Because Krishna had a phobia of death, he made his Creations, the Eternals unable to die either. But the world got overpopulated, and they went insane, and began maiming each other, as they could never perish. So Iblis searched for good souls trapped in that world and bound them to his soul so that he could destroy the world, and he was so powerful that he could destroy the Eternals. He brought them to his new world, and set them up, along with the Guardians. There the chose the most powerful of the Immortals and made them the God of their Element. So comes the motto:
The God's may come and go, only we Eternals remain... ~Iblis, The Angel of Destruction.
Every light casts it's shadow... ~Iblis, The Dark Child.
As i write all forms of creative writing, i also write songs for my characters. This is typically done, (not usually by the artist) but in japan, these types of songs, called Image Songs are written for the main characters. So, i've written some. Sang, Islay, Iblis, Sita, Koji, have their song's lyrics up on the site, you can see them here. Why not take the immortals quiz yourself?
