Solid base of snow at Campra, and since the sun will not strike
this valley until 6 Feb , the snow will stay.
There was about 50 or 60 cm., Nico Vanzetti says.
Unpacked, it's still too deep for MoonBoots -- about knee_high
Temperature below zero at night, a few degrees above zero in the
day.
x_country ski season has started at Campra, with rooms and bunks
available at reasonable prices.
It's a good place for a winter retreat.


Again, I have greatful to the Vanzetti's for giving me a warm dry
place and a computer with which to do this work
And for their friendship and cheerfulness.

I would also like to express my appreciation to Hayat Monika
Huber, 10 Maybach Strasse , D-34127 Kassel, Germany, for providing
a model of fortitutde and optimism.

Hayatt was one of the old pro's who built up Zenith Camp.
She ran the tea kitchen for many years.

    A significantly different version of =kit030.txt -- 'The Guru
Syndrome' --  which many of the same paragraphs and quotes but
also many other ones, occurs apparently as KIT 31 in the Booklet
put out by SO SURESENES and sold at Zenith for many years, thrugh
'05, and titled "Keeping in Touch with Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan" --
Number 31 + 61__72"  

I had incorporated those variants in =kit030.txt
But I missed a few variants, and failed to make it quite clear
which passages were in which version.
I had thought that the SOS version was the later version, but I
now thing that it is the Kaivan version, in general, which is
later and fuller.

This KIT is atypical, it is an allegorical fantasy by PVK.

somewhat would set it to music and make a dance of it.

It reminds me of the allegorical fantasies of Reb Nachman, though
the latter are much better artistically, worlds blending into
worlds, a bit like that Picasso picture of a woman with at least 3
frames painted around it, though I think repros of it dono't show
that.

It is dated January 2004.
PVK is apparently suggesting a new organizational form <8'to serve
as an infrastructure of The Message' ) and advocating some measure
of hierarchic structure.  That apparently includes some use of
'grades' , which were for a while suspended in the SO.  And an
endorsement of the need for synergy to counter_balance hierarchy.
In passing, there is a sketched spiritual analysis of the game of
Chess.                          
There is an implicit suggestion for a critique of the Universal
Worship.                                                         
Although suggeting the need for oranizational change, PVK does not
here attempt to suggest its particular form, and instead
concludes, quoting Bach,  "Find it yourself."
Well, one would not have expected less.

OK, HERE IS PVK'S 'CURRICULUM OF THE SUFI ORDER:  The Teachings of
the Hazrat Inayat Khan, Presented by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan,
Including parallels with the ancient Sufis'

I would say that this is a standalone, suitable for publication as
a book.  for distribution to Representatives (as intended),
available to mureeds (as intended), and distribution to university
libraries and other institutions for the serious study of
mysticism and Islam.         


I do not think that editting is needed, nor that it would be
appropriate.

I do think that a CD_hypertext edition would be appropriate,
linking the various quotes from the ancient Sufis to whatever
source materials are available on internet.

Two major parts of such a hypertext link arae already in place.
The HIK quotations should all, or anyhow most of them, be in the
SO SEATTLE CD.  That was 1986, if I recall.
It is Searchable, by phrase and by volume / section of HIK's
works, and reports back both.

The Koran (Qu'ran) has been input by KAIVAN as part of his Sufi
Media CD.  He inputs the Yusuf Ali translation, which he says was
HIK's "favorite" translation.  PVK notes in one case that this is
the translation that he used, so I would guess he used it for all
his quotations for Koran, except insofar as he was quoting from
memory.


Such a hypertext edition would of course be distributed and used
in conjunction with the SO USA SEATTLE HIK CD.

I would say that extensive commentary would be appropriate, by
anyone who can offer it.  

Some of that commentary would, of course, be critical.

I assume that it is only a matter of time before PVK is recognized
as one of the most important philosophers of at least his era.


It's my impression that the teaching in PVK's Curriculum is
implicit, not explicit. 
Which is one place that commentary would come in.

chracters, eg Hebrew, Greek, Russian, and maybe Arabic,
