This one is dedicated to the holy work all those on our list have been

doing for their communities. What a long strange trip its been since

the time Reb Shlomo said these holy words, but I bless us all that we

should still always hear him saying them:

Ode to the Misfits of the World

Reb Shlomo in Los Angeles, 1971

(Unedited)

And this is a passage from the holy Psalms

and this is what it says:

"Even maasu habonim hoysa l'rosh pinah"

The stone which was cast away by the builders

the stone which was a misfit stone

the builders threw that stone away

hoysa l'rosh pinah - and it became the Crown of the building.

You know my darling friends,

when King Solomon built the Holy Temple . . .

the first thing you have to know is you don't cut.

You don't cut stones, you don't cut anything.

Sometimes, I wish I could teach parents not to cut their children

Children are so holy, they are little holy temples,

little holy stones in the holy Temple.

You can't build a Holy Temple with cut stones

If you ever stand by the holy wall friends,

strangest site in the world, one stone is big, the other small,

one has four corners, one has eight,

but the great miracle is,

is that they all fit together.

But there was one stone,

one stone, that was an absolute misfit.

He didn't even fit the Holy Temple,

so the builders threw the stone away.

(Singing):

But then they built the Holy of Holies

and the Holy of Holies has a little room

and there was an opening,

a strange kind of opening,

and there was no stone that would fit the opening

and suddenly the builders remembered

the only stone that could fit the building

would be the cast away stone, the misfit stone.

And Dovid HaMelech says,

'Do you know why this is so?!

Me'es HaShem haysa zos kee niflos b'ainaynu'

Because it's G-d's world!!

G-d is working wonders!!

Because only a real misfit,

someone who is castaway by the world

can be the Crown of G-d's Holy building.

To you my darling friends, I say this is so true:

It is so true, it is so true

the world is looking down at all the Holy Beggars,

all the young people today, who are also called misfits,

But then on that Great Day

there will be a Crown placed upon the world

When the Great Day will come, when Mashiach is coming,

Believe me, the Messiah will not surround himself by anybody else,

only by cast away stones,

only by those holy cast away stones,

the Holy Beggars of the world.

It may not make sense to everybody else,

but this is the way it will be

because "m'es HaShem haysa zos",

because it's G-d's world, G-d is leading the whole world . . .

So please join me . . . .(More singing)

You know whenever we talk about the rebuilding of Jerusalem,

we are not only talking about the buildings, the Holy City.

In Hebrew 'Eer' means city, but it also means to Wake Up.

So actually Jerusalem is called Er HaKodesh, the Holy City,

but it also means the City which wakes up all which is holy within us.

And so everybody is coming to Jerusalem,

which means everybody has to mamash Wake Up.

And we are just waiting for Jerusalem to wake everybody up again.

Let it be soon,

let it be NOW.

Kee m'tzion tetzeh Torah, u'dvar HaShem m'Yerushalayim

There is a beautiful passage in Isaiah that says:

'A new teaching will come out of Zion, the word of G-d from

Yerushalayim'

What is the word of G-d?

The word of G-d means,

I knew the word all along,

but it didn't help.

But when I hear it from G-d,

then all of a sudden, I'll understand it very well.

The world knows the word 'Peace'.

But it still doesn't go.

But someday, someday,

the word of G-d will be heard in Jerusalem.

Perhaps it will only be one word,

the word PEACE.

But this kind of Peace will be a perfect Peace,

Yerushalayim will come to mean, the City of Perfect Peace

This is because the word will come directly from G-d,

and so the world will know what it means.

And who are the Holy Beggars of the world today?

Those that can already begin to hear the word coming.
