I was always taken by the heartfelt intensity of our Rebbe's reaction

to tragic events, which should never happen, involving the Jewish people.

He shared his outrage, when appropriate. Yet he kept

the heartbreak completely private. Reb Shlomo explained it:

"Aharon was silent". When Nadav and Avihu died, Aharon's silence was

so loud, nobody heard it. Our Rebbe was silent when he heard that

his cousin died in a bus bombing. Two days later he died of a

broken heart.

Following yesterdays news, I see our Rebbe's tears and hear this silence.
