Dear Chevre,

During my last telephone conversation with Shlomo, he said this Torah

about Log B'omer.

He said it says somewhere (I think he said in the Gemara) that Rabbi Shimon

bar Yochai was walking down a road and he heard a voice call, "Shimon,

Shimon". He said that when he heard this, he knew that it was Hashem calling

out to him. The other Sages were uncomfortable with this, and considered it a

little bit arrogant. But Shlomo said that according to the Rizhiner Rebbe it

was actually a sign of his humbleness, because his thinking was, "The whole

world calls me Rabbi, but Hashem knows the truth, I'm just Shimon."
