RE: Claims to value-added on input R. Shlomo material
REF: =inv0494b
------------------------------------------------------------------

This document holds no new information; it's just a re-shuffle of=inv0494b by Turf.

Recently my attention has been drawn to the ethical question ofwhat I've loosely termed "copy-rights" (a non-legal term, ofarguable ethical import, distinct from the legal term 'copyright')

I assume that all legal copyright to all recorded material, regardless of media and processing, unless assigned by the author, belongs to the author's family, unless legally assigned by same.
(Commentaries, introductions, etc. written by other persons are ofcourse the property of the writer, who can register copyright.)

There remains only the question of what Marx might have termed`intellectual property value-added'; and that divides into stagingand processing.

Staging includes Occasion (eg, the Wedding of X & Y), Funders(divided into donors & investors), Host (eg Yakar, "Mishkanot"(=Witt)). Processing includes recorder (videotape & audiotape),transcriber, inputter, editors, annotators.
Investment may be measured in US$, value of labour in NIS (egtranslation @ NIS 35/page, transcribing @ NIS 16/page, input @ NIS3/page), and probable long-term net profit, under best-casescenarios, in felafels.

Turfsort follows, categorized by mainclaim.
The following data and classification must be regarded astentative; those who no more of the history of the documents inquestion should correct it.

TURFSORT BY MAINCLAIM OF =inv0494b

I. Wittturf

1. Original material by Witts: =intro2, =me, =mini-bio

2. Wedding material has, I gather been assigned exclusively tothe Witts. Previously Alon Taegar had directed a funded projectto prepare such material; most of that work was apparently lost ina disk-drive failure (!!). In 10/94 I prepared a topical sort ofinput Wedding material, \WED1094, with the intent that this beassigned without reservation to the Witts for this project.

3. Excerpts prepared by Witts:
=say, =say2

4a.: Input documents, proprietory occasion:
	=brit Occasion=Witt, Host=Witt, Transcriber=Witt,Inputter=Witt, so QED.

4b.: Other input documents:

11. R. AVRAHAM-ARYEH TRUGMAN BOULDER COLORADO TURF
=E_M3 A History of Moshav Meor Modi'in, apparently by the same;found liberated & input without reshut from the Moshav MeorModi'in Chamber of Pre-Reshut Documents, approximately 15 cm.(est. average depth) above the presumed floor-tiles.
================================================================
12. TURF TO WHICH R. WITT APPARENTLY HAS THE BEST CLAIM
=SH_*, esp. =SH_JW* and presumably =sh_EW*
Input=sa, from documents in the Witt Collection.
Note that the document prefix JW was assigned by me, and indicatesonly that I inventoried the document from the Wittcollection; some such documents also occur in the HH(Modi'in) collection. However, documents with the EW prefixare presumably transcribed by the Witts.
================================================================
13. EXCERPTS
Except for =say and =say2, all excerpts prepared by sa. Paint a green stripe on my neighbor's elephant & copyrightthe critter as modern art.
\KIDS1094: Excerpts on children. This project wassuggested by the Frumins; and so they should be consulted onquestions of copy-right.
\REBBES94: Excerpts on Rebbes. I'd be happy to seeanyone work it into a book; eg the Witts; I don't knowenough.
\YOMTOV94: Excerpts on holidays, but not yet enoughmaterial for a book, or set of booklets.
\WED1094: As noted above, this clearly falls within theproject assigned to the Witts.
Again: I'm asserting no claims to this material; I was concernedonly to show, by sketching models, that it's possible to workmaterial into publishable forms without undue delay. I'll behappy to see these projects carried through by others.

I have a variety of other input excerpts; in most cases thedocument begins with an E. Detailed listing in =inv0494b. Much but not all of this material was taken from previouslyinput docs; and much of it has been repacked into the abovecollections of excerpts; so what's left's slim pickin's.

14. YAKARTURF
Notes that I (sa) took from Yakar seminars. All Yakar seminarswere officially taped by Yakar. Although I was prettycareful to write down short sentences verbatim, this materialcan't be used until it's been checked against an OfficialYakar Tape.
See =inv0494b for the listing of these documents.

OK; time to out to the Kineret and check on my alligator traps.
