PACKING LIST TO DISC ==BK6BA2495

CAVEAT: All material here is rough drafts. Much has been sentout on disc for corrections, especially of the Hebrew. All Yakartranscripts were sent to TGG, and I think by her to LG, forcorrection; sh_ew44* (not included) was sent back to the Witts forcorrection. I have not received corrections back. In short -- beon the lookout for updated versions, and remember that the DOSdate is not always a realiable indicator of the latest version.

I. ALLAGATORIA

This disc is sent, entirely on his own initiative andresponsibility, by Steve Amdur, Kibbutz Haon, 15170; 06-757572,to Ben-Zion Solomon, Member of the Board, for his archives and usein working with R. Shlomo materials, and to be shared with him asdeemed appropriate by the Board in accordance with the wishes ofthe Carlebach family. I assume that it will be shared withmembers of the Moshav chevre for their personal study; and inparticular made available, presumably in hardcopy, for study byAryeh Naftali. Needless to say, permission for publication canonly be given by the Carlebach family, in accord with the Board.

This disc holds all that I've input since I last sent outmaterials 6/94 as BOOK6A. It does not however includedcollections of selected excerpts derived from previously-inputmaterial, nor derived from this material.

Exception: Docs input since 6/94 for the Witts, viz. =sh_ew44*,are not include

I waive any financial claims regarding this material, in exchangefor being Granted by the Board Sole and Exclusive Rights to TrapAlligators in the Kineret, and all bayous appertaining thereto.
Bound to be more profitable, when you think of the market.

II. PACKING LIST:

N.B.: I have attempted to included transcriptions of niggunim inthese inputs, using a crude alphabetized notational system. Henceforth I'd use a 12-tone alphabetic system, since that canserve as a key-independent indexing system. (Ie, hijklmnopqrs, where h=key-note.)

N.B2: In these transcripts I attempt to blunder toward a 1-to-1transliteration system, at least one way. Ie, so that a computerprogram could reconstruct the Hebrew from the transliteration.

N.B3: Typists get bored; I've interjected footnote comments, butthen pulled them out to a private file which no-one, includingmyself, has seen. Subsequent editors will have to delete thefootnote-references, and will have to decide which of the remarksI left in were worth leaving in. In general those are the fewreferences that I recognized, and occasionallly supplementaryteachings by R. Shlomo for other documents, or from reminiscence. Again, I assert no claims to this material; edit freely.

D. UPDATE OF PREVIOUS INPUT

=w-j&n2

=W-J&N2 =W-J&N augmented from tr. (from tape) by TGG (which Ilabel #w-j&n2) input sa
(=W=J&N was probably input in the Teager project. Transcriber notindicated. A number of typos and apparent transcription errors in=w=j&n; I'll change it as little as possible (eg spelling, syntax), use my judgement for minor divergences, follow the morecomplete text, and bracket substantive alternatives
The copy of =W-J&N I have (12170 bytes) repeated its own text (seebelow, p5) and then ended. I find a 5.25" disc, probably 3/87 ,with an unduplicated text, but no further material, =wedjoel 6463bytes, undated. So I doubt there's more to find.

Teaching on Leviticus 19:2--19:4 (Parshat Kdoshim)
Given at B'nai Jeshrun, NYC; Weekly series of lectures chaired byR. Meir Fund, of Brooklyn.

At one point B'nai Jeshrun had a major disaster -- roof fell in,if I recall -- I don't know how much, if any, uncopied R. Shlomomaterial was lost
I don't know who has the originals of those tapes, nor theentirety of what's been transcribed

This May 5, 1976 teaching was apparently transcribed in hardcopy, but not input, as A1, which I inventoried as such from thecollection of Haskala Sasson, and xeroxed to the collection of R.Joshua Witt. When I get a copy of same, I can proceed with thisinput. If that ain't forthcoming, I may input from tape.

This tape Copied from Haskala Sasson, I'll send my relativeoriginal to Yakar.
Niggunim will be copied to a separate tape & sent to Ben-ZionSolomon.

Excellent quality tape, almost every word clearly audible.
Lots of recording &/or tape noise, however.

Primary topic: Pesach sheni
Secondary topics: Josef haTzadik, esp. reburial of
3 Niggunim, Parshat K'doshim, "it makes the holy unholy"
N.B.: Haskala Sasson (Meor Modi'in) has suggested that this is anexceptional teaching.
Primary reference: Parshat K'doshim Leviticus 19:1 esp."K'DoShim T'HYU" "Thou shalt be holy"
Cf. also Rashi's commentary on Leviticus 19:3 : "`Ye shall fear(every man) his mother and his father': Here it mentions themother before the father, because it is evident before HIM that ason fears his father more than his mother. But regarding honor,it mentions the father before before the mother, because it isevident before HIM that a son honors his mother more than hisfather, because she wins his favor with (kind) words (ibid)."[This 'ibid' apparently refers to Rashi's immediately preceding citation of Siphra; Kid. 30]
