AND NOW A TIMELY ETHICAL REMINDER FROM ISRAEL'S STATE-RUN RADIO

Noting that the JP Managing Editor got a temporary job with thegovernment, English TV editorializes -- that is, a TV reportervolunteers or reads the editorial comment -- that the JP willbe challenged to remain objective now that it is squarely in thegovernment camp [ in contradistinction to Israel Radio/TV News? ]

In the good old days, when there was practically no humanfunction which someone with the right political affiliation couldnot be hired to perform, the JP editorials, or so 'tis said, were carried over each day to the newspaper from the governmentoffices.
Nowadays the Post claims, without obvious inconsistency, tomaintain objectivity in news articles, and equality of access forarticles of political opinion, while reserving the traditonalnewspaper prerogative of editorializing in the editorials (towhich the Post has annexed an editorial illustrator (not anindependent editorial cartoonist, as was Kirschen with "DryBones".

Anyhow, the JP Publisher is on the Board of Directors of theThird Way, which is about as square as you can get.
