Describes the killers of 3 Palestinians as "radical Jewishsettlers"
COMMENT: Indications at present (12/12/93) are that this was aKach or Kach-like group drawn from a base of about 20 persons. The term 'radical Jewish settlers' creates the misleadingimpression that this is a significant minority within thesettlers' movement.
SUGGESTION: Some term like 'fanatics' or 'extremists' would bemore appropriate; though here one must look to mainstream Jewishpublications -- eg the Jlem Post, and not much else -- to setstandards.

BODY COUNT: "The killings [on 12/10/93 of 3 Palestiniancivillians, apparently by Jewish terrorists] brought to 38 thenumber of Palestinians killed since the announcment of the peaceaccord in September, and 18 Jews have died in the same period."
COMMENT: This creates the misleading impression that 38Palestinian civilians have been killed by Jewish terrorists, and18 Jewish civillians killed by Palestinian terrorists. In fact,it lumps Palestinians killed by Palestinians, Palestinians killedby the Israeli armed forces, and Palestinians killed by Jewishterrorists; with Jewish civillians killed by Palestinianterrorists, and Jewish military personnel killed in the securityzone.
One might suppose that the reporter/editor team was rushed, limited for space, or simply not able to write clear conciseprose. But to suppose that of top-ranked professionalcorrespondents is disingenuous.
One must conclude that this passage was deliberately writtenin a misleading manner to reflect anti-Israel bias.
