The best one can say for Sue Fishkoff is that she's naive; theworst, she should write for Newsweek; or conversely.
It might be nice if she paid another visit to Israel beforecontinuing to write about it.

Y'all might look to see where this article gets reprinted; itspropaganda impact, small in the JP, could be significant inreprint, including in the JP International.

Only W.C. Fields could remain unmoved, emotionally if notpolitically, by this latest in a continual series of stories ofinjured Palestinian children from the territories.

Like Lenin said, "The blood of martyrs is the seed of the Church."
l3
The claim of the intifada to exemplify the heroicvirtues of Salah-a-Din is evidenced by the fact thatlittle children freely rush to the very front lines tothrow stones at the Occupiers, the brain concussions ofwhose womenfolk may be attributed to westernimperialism, whose liberal community shows a greatyearning to repay their dues with shekels.
But I digress.
l1

This is an article about Steve Sosebee, "founder and sole paidstaffer of the nonprofit Palestine Children's Relief Fund."
l2
* One might have asked who funds the fund.
l1
"Sosebee was in Israel for the magazine the Washington Report onMiddle East Affairs."
l2
*One might have indicated its political orientation.
Not necessarily identical to that of Mid-East Report.
*One might even have noted its editorial board.
And possibly tried to trace its funding.
l1

"Mansour was in Makessed Hospital in East Jerusalem. He had lostboth legs, his right hand and right eye to an Israeli anti-tankgrenade in his hometown of Hebron. The circumstances of theincident are unclear."
l2
"We see through a glass, darkly."
*One might at least have delineated the parameters of thatuncertainty. Should one suspect that Israeli Occupiers threwit at the little tyke? Or conversely?
l3
**Ok fans, here's a new trick of media bias: when thesigns point away from your conclusion, retreat toobjectivity. Worked for Gary Cooper.
l1
"Since then Sosebee has arranged for 30 young Palestinians to betreated for free in the U.S."
l2
That does suggest that he didn't pay for it all himself.
l1

"Treatment as Israeli hospitals is often impossible."
l2
This would seem to be misleading; I don't know if it's false. The article goes on to qualify the statement,
l3
**though -- and of course this is is a stock trick ofmedia bias -- the initial impression lingers subrationally;
l4
it exemplifies the 'X is A: not' logical form; 1false statement followed, if not preciselyconjoined, by meta-statement(s) negating the truthof the first statement.
l2
as referring not necessarily to denial of treatment but todelays in obtaining plastic surgery, occupatinal therapytherapy, and physical therapy in the territories; and to thefact that only Palestinians covered by Israeli healthinsurance -- approximately 25%, according to the article --can obtain "long-term rehabilitation and advanced [presumablyreconstructive, not emergency] surgery in Israeli hospitals.

l1
Paragraph 33 notes:
"Some of our cases have security records and not good relationswith the Israeli Civil Administration" Sosebee said, and some haveserved jail terms.
l2
Wait a minute: this is the non-profit Palestine Children'sRelief Fund -- I don't think there are children who have'served jail terms'; and it's not obvious that a fund for thephysical rehabilitation of intifada activists should beclassified as non-profit
l1
"Many were injured in clashes with soldiers."
l2
Again, one can note that the intifada was always mediaoriented, aimed at arousing and explotiting western liberalguilt in conjunction with latent anti-Jewish feeling (amongstboth liberal Jews and goyim), and worked by deliberatelycreating victims, optimally amongst its own chldren.
l3
And this is the society with which we expect to live inpeace, on the basis of shared values.
l1

"Sosebee, who is not Jewish ..."
l2
Shucks, Sue, you didn't need to wait till Par. 34 to hint it.

l1

"Judy Siegel-Izkovich contributed to this report."
l2
The Post medical-affairs reporter; she presumably contributeda sub-interview with Alise Shazar, spokesperson for the CivilAdministration Judea-Samaria.
That sub-interview, apparently background material on theinadequacy of medical facilities in the territories relativeto facilities in pre-67 Israel, seems to have been stretchedas far out of context as honesty would permit, and used tolend credibility to Sosebee's project.
Siegel-Izkovich might like to comment on this article.
