/ contributors Font: Times New Roman 12pt for the text and "Works cited" . 10pt for "Notes" (endnotes and notes at the bottom of the page) . Title of the article 14pt bold . Do not use any unnecessary capital letters . Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) Do not use your academic title, only your name as you wish to see it printed in the contents . Name of author 12pt bold . Affiliation 10pt normal, as briefly as possible + e-mail address (no postal address) . Abstract 10pt and indented at both ends . The abstract must be translated into Afrikaans or any European language of your choice . The translated title of the article must appear in 10pt bold immediately above the translation. Three to five key words should be inserted directly below the abstracts in both languages . Introduction Avoid calling the introductory part of your article "Introduction" . Drop letter The text starts with a prominent drop letter . If you insists on the term "Introduction" it lands above the drop letter, which looks wrong . Section headings 12pt bold. Left justification. Do not use unnecessary capital letters. Indenting of the first line of paragraphs Do not indent the first paragraph of your text of a paragraph immediately below a heading . Indent only 5 characters . Indenting of quotations This is done automatically by your programme . Both sides of the quotation must be indented. Short quotations are not indented Quotations shorter than three full lines are integrated into the text and put into full (not single) inverted commas. Use single inverted commas for quotations within quotations . Spacing of indented quotations There should be a space above and below an indented quotation . Line spacing Single line spacing for the text and full justification . There should be a slightly larger spacing between paragraphs and above and below headings. Please do not number the pages of your manuscript Please do not number the pages of your article; this is done when the final layout of the journal is done. "Notes" and "Works cited" Endnotes should precede the works cited. Please, avoid the other way round!!!! Lines above endnotes must be deleted. The headings of both sections must be in 12pt bold, left justification . For the notes as well as the works cited remove justification to avoid awkward spacing . These are printed in columns with justification removed. Harvard system Used for references in the text as well as references in the notes . |
