Getting started
Ahh n64 emulation sounds great, Playing Goldeneye, Perfect dark, Zelda64. but let me tell you right now if you intend on getting one of these things your in for a heck of a ride. N64 emulation is full of nothing but troble. Most people I know gave up a long time ago its full of glitches sound problem and they run real slow but the price is right you cant beat free so
I will tell you how to get the glitchy wonders to work. Now I pesonaly just got my n64 emu
to work not that long ago so far I only got the 1964 and nemu64 to work, I also herd that
ultraHLE works good but I never got it working o and you will need a really really fast cpu
to run nemu64 1964 seems to work the best for me. We will focus on 1964 for now so were do we get it we can get it at www.ngemu.com/n64 there we can get just about every thing for N64 emulators you need except the roms. www.ngemu.com is a great site worth bookmarking. so after we download 1964 we extract the file, now we have an N64 emulator.
Now were the fudge do we get the friking roms it took me days and nights of countless hours trying to find n64 roms. But my work was blessed with a few great n64 rom sites one is kinda obvious www.n64romz.com & www.angelfire.com/realm/delle2291jgc/n64romz.htm.
Now though most of the roms are not to big they are still real hard to get because they are in such high demand it over load the site so its best to get them at night like around 9:00,
and not all of roms work so far I got Mario 64 and Star fox to work real good and I got Goldeneye so its playable but not much color and its real slow I herd Waverace 64 works
good to. O and make sure you down load a zipfile and nothing else I was not able to get
the .news files to work and they froze my computer up to so stay away from them. after you get a good rom I recommend Starfox 64 Mario64 or Waverace64, Starfox and Mario worked near perfect for me it seems the older games work better. So to start them up double click the 1964 icon go to file them go to load rom then browse for the rom you just down loaded open it up and enjoy.
