Buying fighters...

Fighters are one of the hardest kites to buy.

Retailers find them tricky because few punters know what they are - they look small and cheap, but they're not the sort of kite a child can easily fly. In fact without a few minutes tuition, or David Gomberg's book, it can be very hard for anyone to get the knack. They also tend to be more expensive than their size would suggest.

The real thing - paper kites from the East - are much cheaper, but very fragile, especially the classic large Indian kites.

Having said this, if you can convince your local retailer to bring them in then you are going to save on shipping and the risk of breakage. If you are keen to do it yourself then these addresses might help:
