Iowa Chinese Corporate Leadership Award
(Des
Moines, Iowa) The prestigious
Iowa Chinese Corporate Leadership Award was presented to J. Michael Earley,
President and CEO of Bankers Trust Company, during a Chinese New Year
Celebration February 12. In
presenting
the statewide award, Swallow Yan, former President of the
Chinese Association of Iowa, and Executive Director of the Chinese Association
of Iowa told the audience, "A company and its culture is a reflection of
its leadership. The President and
CEO can create policies that
promote diversity, fairness and support of people from all backgrounds and
beliefs -- but it's the person behind the title who leads by example and truly
shapes the character, the caring, and the commitment that changes and improves
lives. Tonight we recognize such a
person and the company that has been transformed by his leadership - a company
that is there for our association, our members and our community as a whole Mr.
J. Michael Earley."
The
award was presented during an event designed to help usher in the year 2005 as
the Year of the Rooster with a New Year reception and cultural night show. Of
all the traditional Chinese festivals, the Lunar New Year, is the most
important, most colorful, and the most celebrated among the Chinese at home and
abroad. This is a time for the Chinese to congratulate each other on having been
safely through the past year and signify turning over a new page to next year.
