Q2's parents had evacuated the Delta Quadrant along with everyone else. They, and their friend, Dr. Soran managed to get on a ship. However, the ship got caught in the Nexus, and for 6 years they were trapped. However after realising this was only an illusion, they escaped, and their son who had been born only a few hours before entering the Nexus, now started to grow up. They acquired a Freighter, and started a Freighter business. Their son having been only a few hours old during his exposure to the Nexus, had very weird powers, and was given the nickname Q2. His real name, few knew, but it was rumoured among many that he had the title Doctor, as had his late Godfather, Soran before him. Q2 was interested in the Borg, who had driven his people from the Delta Quadrant, and forced them to become wanderers. Whenever the Miran had contact with the Federation, he spent hours on their databases, reading about the Borg, and any conflicts with them. He grew up, and at the age of 16, in 2380, he watched a Ferengi DaiMon and his crew ravage through the ship, and brutally murder his father, then rape his mother before killing her. He escaped and hid in the holodeck, where he was discovered once by a low ranking Ferengi soldier. Q2 killed the Ferengi with his bare hands. Q2 decided that been on his own following the family business would not be an advantagous career move, so he elected to join Starfleet. He first went to the Klingon Flight Combat Academy to hone his skills, and then enrolled for Starfleet Academy, taking the tactical course. In his five years there, he excelled and left with a good reputation to join USS Vesuvius, where he started the ranks ladder.
