Giuseppe (Joseph) John Muratore, Sr. (8/4/1924-4/22/1964) was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and first lived at N. 1312 66th St. Brooklyn

Consiglia (Celia) Marie Pasqualino (10/17/1923-8/5/2000) was born in Williamsburg Maternity Hospital.

They married 9/17/1949 at Our Lady of Loreto Church in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Their children are Stephen, Irene, Christine and Joseph, Jr.

begun Tuesday, January 11, 1944 in a day planner called "Your Silent Secretary"

Saturday, January 17, 1948

Josephine & I went on the bline[sic] date to meet Josephine's sister Lee's friend Joe (who works with her) & his friend Mario. Jo and I weren't too anxious about this date. We got there about a half hour late & found the two fellows waiting in the snow. We were surprised to find two nice fellows Joe & Mario and we spent a lovely evening. We went to the Enduro's. Joe invited me to a corn beef & cabbage party on the 31 of Jan. The boys took Jo & I home (Jo remain at our house) and the night was so cold and snowy that I was tempted to ask the boys up for a cup of coffee so that they could warm up. But I couldn't do that for I didn't mention to mom that I was going on a date. ....

Sunday, February 8, 1948

Joe picked me up from the house-the family thought he was nice. We went to the movie with Dell & Camille. Saw "Daisy Kenyoun" [sp?]. Joe is grand but I still can't make up my mind how I really feel toward him. Perhaps it's because everything is coming along so smooth that I'm not too excited about him. I keep telling myself Joe is a decent fellow and it's not easy to find many like him. I usually liked fellow a good 5 years older than myself and Joe will be 24 in Agust [sic] but then again he is not kiddish like for instance Andy-who I wouldn't consider because he hasn't quiet [sic] a mature or should I say sophisticated mine [sic].

Sunday, June 5, 1948

Margaret, Carl & I went to visit Joe's mother. After our visit we went to Coney Island. Joe spoke to me of engagement plans. [The diary breaks off here.]
